Mojo Nixon - great antidote for a rainy day
Blast him as loud as possible! Especially if you are in an anti-establishment mood. My personal favorite: Where the Hell's My Money! Although all are fun for a certain mood.

1. I like the record he did with Jello Biafra
"Will the Fetus Be Aborted" is one of the greatest rewrites of a traditional spiritual ever.

10. Uh huh huh!
DANGEROUS song for me to hear while driving. Getting that Elvis snear (not any nasty Billy Idol Snear now) and waggling my legs while trying nto change lanes is just a plain recipe for disaster.

5. Sorta cool to actually find another fan of ol' Mojo
"Redneck Rampage" is a funny f***ing song too. I saw him here once and a (former) local radio station was doing the show live. Mojo turned to Skid and said,"Hey Skid, did you know we're on the radio?" Skid replied "is that right?" Mojo then said, "To all you listening on the radio, get your motherfucking asses over here!". Brought the house down. Man do I miss that station.

8. I love his irreverence
I was just listening to Otis. "Shane's dentist don't work too hard, always at the pub. Shane says he's not coming back til they're down to a nub!" LOL nobody makes me laugh like Mojo does.

I was him do a Christmas show once, but oddly enough I thought he was funnier on recordings. Maybe just the mood I was in.

11. Dead Milkmen
Are great for a rainy day too.

We went to a shopping mall
And laughed at all the shoppers
And security guards trailed us
To a record shop
We asked for Mojo Nixon
They said "He don't work here"
We said "If you don't got Mojo Nixon
Then your store could use some fixin'"

13. I was thinking about him just last night
I used to play with Nixon and Skid Roper a lot back in the prehistoric 80s. Always entertaining.
