The "Clinton did it too..." Arguments
Okay, I see these arguments all the time on other boards. It's a classic Freeper argument. Whenever someone makes a point against Bush, the retort is always "Well, Clinton did it too..." . What's the purpose of this argument? What relevance does it have to what's happening today? Whatever Clinton did or didn't do is ancient history because Bush and the Republicans have complet power over our government. They can change anything that Clinton did or did not do.

I'm not saying that Clinton was an Angel. He made a ton of mistakes, but he's gone. Bringing him up in a debate is nothing more than Clinton-bashing at this point.

1. bush and co. said
they were going to "undo" all that the Clinton administration did. So the argument that "Clinton did it too" is just wrong, as well as childish. What scares me is that these people pro-create and teach their children all this crap.

2. It's all they have; the facts will beat the snot out of a Repiglican any
day, any time, so all they can do is resort to childishness...
This is essentially "He started it!" whining, since they cannot win otherwise. Unfortunately, sheeple will go, "Yup, that's true, he did" and let the Slippery Chimp get away with it.
Reagan's Teflon Presidency?
"Slick Willie?"
Yeah right...Chimpy is slipperier than both of them put together, with the total cooperation of the wrong-wing, corporate media whores.

7. Bush Invaded Iraq
Not Clinton. So what's the point of dragging Clinton into every argument. Why are we still arguing the Clinton presidency? When Clinton was president, no one dragged Bush I into any arguments.

9. Why Are You Still Arguing About Clinton?
Do you really think that Clinton's actions or inactions have an effect Bush's administration? What's the point of arguing about Clinton now?

Why do you have such an obsession with Clinton?

19. because it shows that Iraq
Wasn't just put on the table with the Bush administration. Clinton must've seen some evidence of Iraqi WMD programs to authorize a military strike.

13. Actually
Clinton was enforcing the no-fly zones and was responding to Saddam's 'test' of US resolve.

Bush was simply providing funds to his contributors and lying about it.

5. They invoke clinton when their arguments are collapsing into the mud..
it's all they have to retreat to... So I tell them to focus on the subject of BUSH, instead of changing the subject.

12. going into Iraq was wrong
even if you consider the humanitarian atrocities commited by Hussein, because, those all happened while Hussein enjoyed US support from Reagn and Bush 1

Bush could only campaign on one issue: that he wasn't Clinton.

It's amazing to me how many freepers told us 'clinton is a liar, it doesnt matter what he lied about, a lie is a lie' and now tell us 'it doesnt matter that Bush lied, cuz getting rid of Hussein was worth it, even when it required lots of lies'

So, freepers, which is it?

Is a lie a lie and an impeachable offense?
If you still hold to that, why is Bush not impeached?
If you are now admitting that some lies are necessary, do you admit now that impeaching Clinton was wrong?

These are questions that no freeper has been able to answer, and I think these are the questions we should ALL be asking of them.

15. I usually point out that using their logic...
...they are admiting that Bush is no better than Clinton. You can usually get two spins out of their head with that statement, whether you believe it or not.

17. My Response to This Kind of Point is:
"OK, so you're admitting X..." Then go on from there. A lot of these 'defenses' are really admissions.
