Stupid Factor Explains Bush's Popularity
"The answer , I'm afraid, is the factor that dare not speak its name. It's the factor that no one talks about. The pollsters don't ask it, the media don't report it, the voters don't discuss it.

"I, however, will blare out its name so that at last people can address the issue and perhaps adopt strategies to overcome it.

"It's the "Stupid factor," the S factor: Some people -- sometimes through no fault of their own -- are just not very bright.""

Ironically, this article appears in a newspaper that wrote the book about stupidity.

10. What's really scary is...
...that I generally test between 145 and 160, and I'm pretty sure I'm an idiot. I mean, I'm a flake and I have toms to learn. I can just about get by on what I have going for me. I can't imagine trying to get by on less.

11. Nope.
The majority have average IQs. The numbers of people who have below average intelligence are roughly the same as the numbers of geniuses.

Statistically, it should work out that 50% have an IQ below 100 and 50% have an IQ above 100. But the average IQ ranges between 90 and 110, and most of us are somewhere in that range.

50% of the people have below average IQ's

5. the seattle TIMES wrote the book on stupid
they even have a stupid SPORTS section.

the author is correct, and this is why democrats are doomed. anit-intellectualism is the only thing most americans agree on. they don't like smarty pants know-it-alls. they'd rather be ruled by idiots than someone smarter than them.

they rub is, they are being ruled by cheney & rove, and they ARE smart. and evil.

7. Just Wondering
>they don't like smarty pants know-it-alls.

If that is the preception, and it very well could be, how did it happen, and how do we get past it?

12. It IS the perception...
If that is the preception, and it very well could be, how did it happen, and how do we get past it?

... and one person who has done a great job getting past it is Michael Moore. I'm sure there are others, but he comes to mind right away.

Instead of bashing Bush, he makes people laugh at Bush.

Instead of "educating" people, he simply draws attention to what they already know... and then lets them look hard at what they know.

IOW, you have to start where people already are and lead them on from that point. Any teacher knows that.
