Apparently the names of some of the passengers who would have been on the Air France flights were the same as the list of ~100,000 names on the international alert. Seems that at least one of the names that caused the ALERT was that of a child and another was an elderly Chinese woman.
Haven't we seen this before? Basing a list merely on names (not even birthdates or any other information) is just asking for mistakes to happen. I heard a few years ago about something like that happening on voter lists somewhere.....can't remember exactly where, I wish there were some recent reports on how THAT is going now.
BTW the BBC reported Friday night that everyone on all of those flights just took a later flight so the same people that caused the alarm to start with were on flights anyway.
