anyone seen the Walmart commercial ??
I saw the NBC Nightly News and during it they aired a Walmart commercial where supposed Walmart emplyees and customers give testimonials about how great the Walmart store has been to them.

Has there been any stories out there about this PR/propaganda campaign that Walmart has launched? Which PR agency is behind this one?

Is anyone going to take Walmart seriously? I just watched the commercial propaganda and had to laugh. I couldn't believe they could air this stuff and keep a straight face.

anyone see or hear about any of this?

2. Walmart: Exploiter of Illegal Immigrants
I thought the Republicans were really against illegal immigration, yet they will shop at Walmart, who won't even hire LEGAL Americans to do their work?

This is the same Walmart that does business with the COMMUNIST Chinese government too. Talk about collaborating with America's enemies - what next, the Al Queda Clean Up Crew?

7. A little off topic, but, the Chinese government is "Communist"
in name only. A simple transition from providing lip service to peasant problems, to giving whole-hearted support to corporatism, while retaining autocratic power, has made it a de facto fascist government, regardless of what it may call itself.

Corporatism, Capitalism, Communism, whatever you want to call it - Walmart will stoop to any level to exploit poor people.

they were saying that Wal-mart saved jobs in a small town, by renovating an old building down town and kept the busniess core going, IT DIDN'T LOOK LIKE ANY WALMART I'VE SEEN!

6. Walmart is the type to break your leg and then say "Lean on me!"
I usually avoid shopping there, though once I did have to go because they were the only ones open and I had to get a camera battery. No cheaper than anyone else, might I add...

8. That may have been in Rogers, Arkansas,
the home of Store #1. The downtown area was renovated a few years back, and most of the shops along the main street, Walnut, are occupied, although I don't know how well they are doing.

4. Not good to companies selling their stuff to them
Their new inventory system will be rather costly and they expect the suppliers to pay for this new technology without increasing their price to Walmart for the product. I think American companies should organize a boycott of their own.

11. That "warm & fuzzy" feeling!
I took a Public Relations class in college. I remember the instructor telling us that big companies like to do these kind of ad campaigns showing what "warm, caring, giving" organizations they are -- to make the public feel all "warm & fuzzy" about them. It seems that Wal-mart has been running more ads of this sort recently. I remember one where a lady was beaming about how much she loved working at Wal-Mart. And another where a family was raving about the quality of the food they sell. Wonder if they rolled back those ground beef prices with some cuts from downer cattle. Even more laughable was one where this young married couple declared that they bought EVERYTHING at Wal-Mart. Unfortunately in some remote rural areas where Wally World is the only game in town, I guess some people have no choice.
