Alert Casts Doubt on U.S. Progress Vs. Al Qaeda
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=reutersEdge&storyID=4039262&fromEmail=true

snip:

But in raising the terror threat level to "high" on Sunday, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge acknowledged -- to the surprise of some terrorism experts -- that the danger might be "greater now than at any point" since the 2001 attacks.
He also warned that the next wave of al Qaeda attacks could "rival or exceed" the assaults on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that killed nearly 3,000 people.

Some analysts said the warnings amounted to a rare public acknowledgment from an administration bracing for a re-election battle next year.

1. Chicken Littles
Don't these threat levels remind you of the children's story of chicken little running around screaming "the sky is falling?"

I got a question for this administration... How come, after Afghanistan and Iraq, we still have to worry about cave dwellers using our very own tools against us as a means of terror? What the hell have ya'll been doing? Everybody you put in jail has been released, we don't know one damn thing more about 9/11 than what we knew 2 years ago, and we keep having to put up with ya'll running around claiming the sky is about to cave in any minute now.

I tell ya what.... if there is another attack, it will be because ya'll ain't done shit to stop it. Nevermind the FACT that some folks think ya'll had a hand in allowing 9/11 to be such a gawd-awful day to start with.

Indeed, the more I think about it...the more it occurs to me that ya'll did have something to do with 9/11 being so infamous.

Take yer threat levels and shove 'em up yer asses! IOW.. put 'em where the sun don't shine!

3. Hmm
Well, if they hadn't been diverted into the "imminent threat" of Iraq (or, immediate threat as Rummy said), I am guessing that Al Qaeda would have been a lot weaker, if not mortally wounded. But no, we had to go attack a guy that Colin Powell & Condi Rice said was neutered back in 2001.

Any attack will only Boost Bush's chances of winning..And if they are paying attention to the Presidential race Im sure they would know this.. No I expect them to stay quite until after the election, anything happening before the election should be heald in exstream suspicion as a Bush set up.
