Is Saddam being tortured?
Edited on Sun Dec-21-03 11:08 PM by Manix
I heard on CBS Radio that a large portrait of Dumbya
was put on the wall of Saddam's detention cell.

Now having to stare at that arrogant smirk 24/7 is real torture!!

1. there's a story on freeperville...
....that a GI punched him in the face after Saddam spit on the soldier.

I've no idea if it's credible. But he does have a swollen red nose and some kind of cut over his left eye in that first photo.

5. I can almost guarantee it...
those "undisclosed locations" aren't called that for nothing.

BTW: What ever happened to Noriega? Strange how these people fall through the cracks and are never heard of again.

6. One could hope...
I hope so. I'll even give 'em a free plastic shredder. Maybe it will focus his mind a little if they flip it on and off a few times when they ask that SOB questions.

8. I would rather be dead
than have to look at that ugly ass phony SOB everyday. There is no way I could do it. I feel sorry for Saddam. No one should have to go through THAT kind of torture. I can't wait for the day when bu$h gets his.

12. From what I hear, Saddam's regime tortured its "enemies."
Now... how is the sentiment behind your post any different from the "SOB" you damn?

Focus YOUR mind, PackedforPerth.

7. ARE YOU SURE?
Are you sure it is Saddam? We need independent verification of just who is being held before we go any further.

If indeed it is who they say it is... don't you think you'd like to see him tried in an American courtroom? Yeah... bring that sob here and let him stand trial in front of an American jury....

10. LOL!
don't you think you'd like to see him tried in an American courtroom?

LOL! Are you joking? I want that SOB tried and hanged. From what I've seen I doubt that American courts would even manage to bring him to trial. :)

17. I for one would like to see him get a fair trial.
But the only venue to do it is at The Hague.

He deserves to defend his actions and let an international jury decide his punishment.

Of course, that won't happen because then we'll here the whole sordid story about how we helped him consolidate power in the 80s when it suited the Reagan/Bush administration. He was still receiving US aid up until the day he invaded GHWB's better friends, the Kuwaiti's.

Tsk, tsk...never trust a Bush, Saddam.

21. A fair trial, of course.
He is said to have tried to kill poppy bush, so let's bring him to America and try him for that.

Like Old and In the Way says though, the current regime wouldn't like having his story told here. So they will fight us to the end trying to keep him off American soil. The same soil where our dead soldiers once lived. For the blood of our brave soldiers, Saddam needs to be brought here and given a fair trial.

"For the blood of our brave soldiers, Saddam needs to be brought here and given a fair trial."

We invaded a sovereign country. We have no right to force an American trial on a leader of a foreign nation. When we fought World War II, Nazis were tried in a world court, setting the stage for future UN courts. So you think the US should be the world's policeman?

23. Exactly which US Laws has Saddam broken?
In order to be tried in the US, it is necessary to violate US laws.
Please be specific.

What the hell did Saddam ever do to US? Khrist,he was best buds with Raygun,Rummy and the bu$hes not that many years ago.But...you can't trust a repuke. All they know how to do is backstab and then eventually kill you off. What a group running this country. It sucks.

13. I'm With You-Saddam Should Go Before a UN Court
All he ever did to the US is try to keep a certain cabal's greedy grasp off of Iraq's oil.

Saddam was an evil bastard, no doubt. But the US has no right being judge, jury and executioner.

15. I can't understand what gives
the US the right to go into other countries, take out their leaders and set it up the way THEY want it. Can you imagine the uproar if someone from another country came here and did that? How would that phuking idiot like to be ran into a hole and then captured and tortured.....and someone else put in his stolen office seat? That sawed off little bastard wouldn't be able to handle it. To me,it's embarrassing what these lowlife bastards are doing to our country and our reputation and once good name. The arrogance is overwhelming in this illegitimate admininstration. I won't be happy until they all PAY for what they have done. It's a disgrace.

14. He's being chemically and psychologically lobotomized
They don't want him implicating Raygun, Rummy, and the BFEE in the eventual trial which if run by the Iraqi's will be largely out of their ability to censor. If he's only able drool and mumble unintelligably by that time they will just use that as evidence that he is a "madman" and therefore must have been a threat to America.

25. My guess
He'll be tried in Iraq.

There will be a parade of witnesses who saw or lost relatives to his tortures and massacres.

The Iraqi court won't listen to anything about America which they will consider changing the subject from Saddam's crimes against the Iraqi people.

He will be convicted and executed.

26.  You know, we're not talking about Mother Teresa
their doing this too, it's Sadaam Hussein. I don't know if putting up those pictures is the smartest thing for the US to do in trying to claim the high ground internationally, but the fact that Sadaam has to look at his dead sons doesn't bother me one bit.
