So Who Saw Diane Sawyer Tonight on ABC?
She interviewed the moron.

My take:

The cat is totally insincere and dodged all questions.

What say you?

41. Just saw it.....
I was especially bothered by his "emotionless" reply to the inquiries about the dead soldiers and their families.

HE HAS NO SOUL...........He is a Malevolent Narcissist!

He thinks: 'Whippeee do! I can bully and kill because I'm the King of the world..' Muahahahaah

LET'S GET HIM OUT!

3. he still holds his face wrong
all the time

inappropriately giggly, with his daddy's raspy heh heh heh laugh

and when pickles was talking, he had just the strangest expression, like he couldn't control his mouth, and he kept nervously darting his squingy eyes around

and he still can't SAY anything of substance. just dodges things.

I wonder, to the average person, do they see it as normal that he almost always laughs at questions that aren't funny?

Of course it was much funnier when you were listening and trying to understand him between all the uhhhhh's and long pauses.

4. she didn't follow up enough
when he said he's got a job to do, he has no time for politics, she should have asked him how much time he spends fundraising vs. at the White House.

When he said Ansar al Islam = al Qaeda, she should have challenged that, and also mentioned that before the war they were operating only in Kurdish areas.

When he said he was satisfied with the progress on the economy, she should have asked him didn't that contradict what he just said about not resting until everyone who wants a job has one.

She pretty much didn't do her job.

in answer to some question (which they didn't show asked) he went into a snit, spitting and screwing his face up about doing his job, talking about a 3rd person presidunce, and sorry, i went into my Pavlovian response, middle finger up at the screen, cursing him.

so i decided not to watch and instead enjoy the evening.

and had a relaxing evening.

15. Angels in America
I don't know how many of you watched "Angels in America" on HBO
but it was ravaging against the Republican party during the Reagan
era - mostly the neglect of the aids crisis. Mike Nichols,
who is married to Diane directed it and I can't believe he's not a
die hard liberal. I think she had no choice but to go softball but
at times she tried to push him and had a funny look on her face when
he would respond - kind of like sucking a lemon. I personally
think she can't stand him.

and when she did, his face contorted and he was obviously miffed by the questions.

He appeared uncomfortable. Liars get that way when pressed for the truth.

24. are you talking about this? I taped this part, transcribed it
DS: VP Cheney said "There is no DOUBT Saddam has weapons of mass destruction, not programs, not intent; there is no doubt he HAS (emphasis hers) weapons of mass destruction. Secretary Powell said a hundred to five hundred tons of chemical weapons, and now the inspectors say that there is no evidence of THESE weapons existing right now."

get this HORRID, cheezy, disingenous answer (how COULD he have had this in advance......the response is SO lame, I LOLed as he said it)

flapping his chicken wings as he says this, BTW, looking all over the place, clearly flustered, aggravated by the question

GWB: "Look--there's no DOUBT that SH was a dangerous person; there's no DOUBT we had a body of evidence proving that, and there's no doubt that the president must act after 911 to make America a more secure country."

it's beyond disgusting that they just accept his smugness, arrogance, nastiness, ignorance, dimwitted hubris.....

THEN.....portray this as charm!!!!!!!!

the kind of guy you'd like to have a few beers with.....sure, then have him skip out on the tab while you're taking a leak.

has there EVER been a more apt analogy to this scene than "The Emperor's New Clothes?"

I know that's cliche, but after seeing today's embarrassing performance, I just fail to see how ANYone with a sense of self-respect can fail to call it like it is.

it goes beyond imagining the depths to which almost all mainstream kneepadders have sunk, in thrall to this less-than-non-entity.

malign entity is more like it

37. got that, bra
and the polls......what to make of them

are they as twisted as the media handmaidens?

are they to be trusted AT ALL?

saddest thing of all, though is if only a fraction of the FIFTY FRICKIN perCENT who don't bother to vote (and, in a way, I don't really blame them), DID, the fascists would need a hell of a lot more than Diebold, etal, to steal this election.

anyone done a survey of how that fifty percent would break down, voting-wise?

my guess would be at LEAST 65% anti-pug.

is that way off, or what?

34. I didn't phrase that very well....what I meant was.......
that, despite their having to have been prepared for such a question, it sure seemed as if they weren't, given the quality of his response, especially the emotional aspect.

that was even more revealing than his words, I thought.

glad I taped it, just to go over his spastic, outraged reaction

and that's why my opinion of media, low as it is, only sinks lower with each passing day, much to my utter amazement

he actually did pretty good. By pretty good I mean that he projected what so many seem to like about him.

His appeal still eludes me completely. I can't stand to watch him.

But within that context I suspect a lot of people watched and liked what they saw.

there's a reason Rove keeps him out of totally controlled situations, he is plain awful.

I think even to supporters, his failure to just answer the stinking question would get annoying. Does he have to dodge every single one? Can he express one unscripted thought, just for a break from the monotony?

21. She's a Republican shill
Diane Sawyer has been on the Republican side of issues ever since she camped out with Richard Nixon in San Clemente after his resignation.

I refuse to watch her lame and vapid interviews, no matter who she's talking to. The only interviewer I can think of that's worse is Connie Chung.

23. She had him a little hot
under the collar trying to get a answer to why we're in Iraq. Just kept babbling about how Saddam is evil and Iraq is better off. The voice pitch went up and he got louder and visibly agitated. Pretty amusing. He came across more spectacularly stupid than I've ever seen him yet. Defending not reading any news because he "gets it directly from the source". What a dull pair he and babs are. However I was scared by him when he started in with his religious crap. Absolutely no real thinking is going on here.

38. Watch Bush?
I cannot stand to watch the Chimp, or any of his mentors, stooges, or flunkies. On occasion I have tried to watch the Chimp, but only rarely can I last more than fifteen seconds. He starts in with that idiotic smirk, and then his eyes glaze over as he tries in vain to get his alcohol-pickled brain cells to fire, and some kind of pause like a mini-seizure comes over his face.

At that point I say, "Enough!" The Chimp is an insult to morality and to good sense. And his semi-literate, tongue-tied babble is an insult to all Americans who have bothered to try to learn anything. The notion that someone like him, so incompetent and so devoid of education and polish, could serve as President is absolutely preposterous and repugnant.

And then, as the final insult, he gets treated like royalty, with all sorts of deference from the "liberal" media.

I am hoping that the Chimp will not be re-selected. But if he is, he will eventually flounder. It happened to Hitler and the Nazis. Most people in Germany thought they were wonderful as long as matters rolled the right way. But eventually they floundered, and people realized that they had been duped.

Right now ChimpCo is riding a wave, but the wave will crash eventually. This nation's arrogance has pushed us a long way in the Middle East. That arrogance breeds an amoral delirium. The Republican Wurlitzer was arguing tonight in favor of using torture on Saddam (at least that seemed to be the drift; I stood it as long as I could and then switched channels). Of course, first it is Saddam who is tortured, then it is domestic troublemakers, and then it is Joe Sixpack himself.

Okay, I wandered off topic a bit. I needed to vent. :grr:
