Poll question: Which "Tough Guy" do we need to elect to defeat * ?
Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 09:48 AM by mzmolly
Let's face it DU-ers, we need a "Tough Guy" to run against the "Tough Guy" in the OO in 04. This is a new era, and our current resident (of "Shock and Awe" fame) is going to be tough to defeat. *Especially given the fact that we just pulled Saddam Hussein (Iraqs most dangerous Senior Citizen-who happened to be 'packing heat') out of a 6x8 hole in Iraq.

So who's your favorite "Tough Guy" in the coming election.

All in good fun gang ;)

6. Pretty much
Of course, I know about all his waffles and reversals of former statements. I laugh every time I see him. And i didn't even think of the name Coward Dean.

Edited on Tue Dec-16-03 10:05 AM by madison
You should be ashamed of yourself.

Don't you understand the enemy is George W. Bush, not fellow Democrats?

30. "This message is for madison"
Are you blind? Just because you're a corporal in the Dean army doesn't mean the country is going along with you. I support a true progressive, Dennis Kucinich, and I'm not going to become a sheep and go "baaa" along behind anyone. When the primaries are over, I will undoubtedly at the very least vote for the Democratic candidate. I refuse to act blind and support anything less than the best candidate for ALL American people.

35. Something to consider…
Well, in the meantime, you might give some consideration to NOT doing Karl Rove's work for him.

Be FOR Kucinich is you wish; I won't trash Kucinich or any other Democratic candidate.

Maybe you could think about staying with the positives about Kucinich and stopping with the negative talk about the rest of the Democratic candidates, one of whom will be our only bulwark against Bush in 2004.

That is not "ba-a-a"; that is common sense.

31. Can you say, "Four more years of Bush"? I figured as much...
The scary thought is that GW might actually win an election.

18. A little off topic, but is that the original cover for this week's issue?
I saw reference to it a few days ago, but that was pre-spider hole.

The issue I saw on MSGOP's site had Saddam Claus on it.

Was there a last-minute change or is that last week's cover? (haven't seen any NW covers lately)

But Dean is also pretty tough politically. He's gaining a reputation as a straight shooter, which can only help him in the toughness area.

14. Howard Dean, the next President of the United States!
If Kerry, Lieberman, and Gephardt were really "tough guys", they would have shown a little more backbone and stood up to the BCE/PNAC agenda. Edwards too, for that matter.

15. Dean, as in Howard Dean
Remember Harry Truman?

The pollsters and pundits thought Harry Truman didn't have a chance in the 1948 election.

Hot Tip: Harry Truman BEAT Thomas E. Dewey and shocked everyone but his supporters!!!

Sound familiar?

For toughness of mind, she is a good choice, and a departure from a wholly misguided strategy of macho posturing, which after all plays into the far right mentality anyway.

42. We need the guy who wrote the antiterror book in 1997- The New War.
We need the guy who exposed more government corruption than any lawmaker in modern history.

We need the guy who has the foreign policy chops down cold.

We need the guy who is tough enough to buck corporate interests and close their tax loopholes.

We need the guy who is tough enough to make REAL and meaningful changes in environmental laws and hits the ground running on day one KNOWING the science already and not having to "wait" for more science to come in.

We need John Kerry.
