Bush's "bounce" absolutely pathetic
Hahaha! I thought that Bush would at least get a bounce into the low 60's with this Saddam capture. Instead he's at 57% with his re-elect numbers even worse than they were before the capture. I wonder how the "Bush is now unbeatable" media whores will spin this one?

1. Same laid off people on Sunday are still laid off on Monday
So...now lives will be grandiose for Iraqi people, how about our own? This economy is NOT booming,I don't care how the media whores try and spin that GDP jump a month ago.

3. I am not the smartest man on the earth
not even close, but it seems to me that an economic recovery can't happen until people get jobs. If they have no money, they won't buy stuff. Now if a relatively uneducated Midwestern boy like me can see that, why can't the pres. and his cronies? <I mean, he went to Yale> sarcasm off.

6. Yep. Kenny Boy Lay did more damage to Americans than Saddam
To the (formerly) retiring generation that has to work to their graves, to the families who go homeless on the streets, or go without meds to live, and the wrecked lives and families IN America in the hundreds of thousands, because of Kenny Boy and his ilk - Saddam pales in comparison.

2. I'm Pleasantly Surprised Also
Each bounce(911, Afghanistan, Iraq) has been lower and the retracement to previous levels faster than the one before.

4. You mean, capturing Saddam didn't get rid of the $500B deficit?
That's what it sounded like on the news...

5. I haven't talked to everyone I know, but
the overwhelming reaction to Saddam's capture was "That's good. But so what?"

Only toadies and ideologues view this as an important event.

Now, as Saddam starts to "reveal" under torture all sorts of things that AREN'T true (WMD in Syria, al Qaeda links, terrorists and WMD in Iran, etc.) this could be made into a significant PR event.

It is critical that Saddam be handed over to some objective authority as soon as possible.

We actually have no legal grounds to be holding him at all.

7. And just what did he have to do with the capture?
The troops and our intel people get a bounce; the only thing I want to see now is Chimpy bounced right out of office.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

8. What changed?
When the flag-waving zombies start up, (Thank God for the President, etc.) I remind them of the economy, the unemployed are still unemployed, service members are still dying, Ken Lay and the rest of the market raiders are still free, and rich.

They look rather downcast when they take a moment to think. :freak:
