Around the Blogs: Defending Your Campaign
News of the latest attack on your campaign, this one by a shadowy group run by Democrats, continues to spread across the blogosphere.
Click Here for a list of the dozens of blogs that are talking about it.

Over at
Dean Nation Dana Blankenhorn writes:

It wasn't just aimed at Governor Howard Dean, M.D. These people were aiming at you, at us.
They don't want the grassroots involved in politics. They want us to stay silent, afraid that if we speak up, we'll be hurt.

It's impressive that the blogs have been all over this important story that has been largely overlooked by traditional news sources. Which brings up interesting food for thought: How many people actually saw the ad on television--and how many people read about it online, and were immediately able to learn that it was financed by a
Faceless Group run by former Kerry and Gephardt staff. We're not sure. But when we reach the point where Americans get the real scoop on the propaganda before they get fed the propaganda itself . . . that's when you'll know, once again, how much you have changed politics in this country."

Hmm...the Dean Nation link is right, but not coming up right now.

1. I'm very impressed by comments by Dean supporters
that said they were keeping up their work for Dean no matter what.

No wonder people get so emotional about defending Dean.

P.S. -- Dean did not invent grassroots democracy. So STOP SAYING THAT! ;)

3. No one in the campaign claims to have invented Grass roots
but that's what we ARE by definition. And since WE run the campaign, a shot at the campaign is taken very personally by all involved. It's a concept called FAITH.

Beyond that we are involved in this campaign because we recognize that in the war of good vs evil, status quo insiders aren't being very effective.

So, here we are. Puzzle at that if you wish, but it's really rather obvious to all of us.

4. Should Dean disavow his attacks?
Where he says all the candidates are for the war? They all voted for the tax cut? All Dean has done is attacked candidates and Democrats. Why never a call for Dean to stop attacking fellow Democrats?

And why no call for Dean to stop smearing Gephardt and Kerry when there isn't any evidence they ran these ads?

7. It's evidence of Dean's sleaze
That he would accuse people with no evidence whatsoever.

I still say these ads are just the kind of thing Joe Trippi would do, they benefit Dean the most. They see whether people will support Dean after realizing how bad the attacks from the right will be AND they can smear Kerry and Gephardt at the same time. Funny they're not running in NH, the place nobody seems to care about Dean's lack of foreign policy experience. Iowa and SC, people care and the ads are running.
