Who Loves Dennis' message?
I do!

I was holding back on the purse strings until the Presidential election season began before throwing some money at the nominee, but after DK's performance againt Koppel(sp?) and a reading of "Prayer for America" I squeezed some coins out for my man DK. First monetary contribution for any candidate, ever. More will follow, but gotta watch the expenditures since taking a $6000 pay cut this year and sure to be more in '04 if currents trends continue.

Go Dennis. Shout it from the mountain top, brother! :yourock:

like him more and more. He went from an unknown to me to tie with Kerry as my #2. I really like and respect DK and his message.

shouldn't we be supporting the candidate who represents our position?

Or should we just pick the guy who is best at "politics"?

Because even if we win, if we have another duplicitous liar, we really didn't win anything.

8. No knock...
...against the others and I'll support whoever wins the nomination, but I gotta say IHO Dennis is the only true Democrat in the bunch. It seems that the "frontrunners" are running on "electability" instead of truly representing the people. I feel funny saying this since I've never met the guy, but...I love Dennis!

9. As Molly Ivans said
"In the primary go with your heart. In the General election, go with your head."

Danged right we pick the one who best represents us!

"Because even if we win, if we have another duplicitous liar, we really didn't win anything. "

And another disappointment. Or, one who talks good during the campaign, but sells us down the river afterward.

Been there, done that. Have the tee-shirt.

Follow your heart!

That one?

He sounds a lot like Nader.

now isn't there a dean thread somewhere you should be boosting?

If Greens and Democratics alike find his message enlightening, then more power to Dennis.
His message is about coming together for the best in all of us, not fraction as it appears you imply.

He is running for President of the United States.

You run to win and help your party furthur their goals, not to make you feel special and inspired.

23. No KMA, it's MY party
when you become a member, all members are simply of my party. Together, we don't refer to them as otherwise.

of course YOUR party may believe differently. I don't know, i don't belong to it.

Dennis Kucinich is not running a campaign to further his agenda. We collectively believe it is special and he is inspired to a greater cause you may not understand.
Once he is President, you will see the difference.

24. "Further their goals"
Think about what you just wrote.

"Further their goals"

Is the mess that Hillary Clinton proposed, keeping profit for private companies around to siphon off funds that should go to healthcare, one of 'our' goals? It's not mine.

Is keeping the free-trade agreements that are destroying this country, not just the blue collar sector but now the middle class, one of 'our' goals? It's not mine.

Is keeping corporate interests well attended on of 'our' goals? It's not mine.

He's the only candidate with experience that's even coming close to even addressing our goals.

All the rest are starting the bargaining process from a position of already having given up ground. Not smart. Unless you're either cowardly or complicit.

Sorry, but your abbreviated attempts at reason fall far short of what's necessary to truly debate the merits of Kucinich's campaign versus the rest of them. If you're really interested in doing so, let's see a bit of effort.

36. These aren't the Democrats we grew up learning about, IMO
I think they deserve the title they use: neo-liberals.

Thanks neo-libs, for NAFTA. Thanks for WTO. The middle class is dying off. Thank you so very, very much.

Thanks also for Welfare Reform. Thanks for dropping the ball on nearly every single liberal goal ever. Way to go!

Thanks for making us the minority in both houses. Thanks for making Nader's arguments about 'no difference' into something that actually resembles reality. In a better time (before neo-liberals), it would be so easy to argue that he's talking outta his @$$, but nowadays he does seem to have a point. Energy bill, anyone? And I know I was certainly unhappy with IWR, although there seem to be Democrats willing to parse many, many words in order to rationalize how it was 'necessary'. Ptui.

We deserve better, and some of us expect it, and are actually willing to vote accordingly.

Deal.

6. Welcome aboard!
Dennis Kucinich is the best progressive candidate running. He makes me proud to be a Democrat, much like the late Senator Wellstone did. He inspires hope, a larger, more inclusive vision, and never appeals to our baser instincts and anger.

He is a man of his word, a friend of labor, the poor, the downtrodden, the farmers, the uninsured, the overlooked, and the forgotten. As president, he would speak for ALL Americans, so we can get this country moving forward as one.

The only REAL grassroots campaign going: Dennis Kucinich! Glad you joined us! :yourock:

He speaks directly from the heart. No hedging, no mincing words. I love it, respect it, and want more of it, from the POTUS!

And like you, he is also the first ... wait, no... I also donated to Paul Wellstone's last campaign (even though I live in Texas).

But he was the first after that.

I hope I can give some more soon. :)

40. That's how I feel about DK too.
I like all the candidates, and I'll be glad to support whoever ends up going against *Bush, but Dennis Kucinich is #1 with me because he has what I consider a truly progressive view that sees the problems we face holistically and his solutions seem systemic rather than the typical approach of patching up consequences, which thus far hasn't really worked so well to bring about peace and justice in the USA and the rest of the world.

39. What's different, and very special, about Dennis J. Kucinich is

that he is not about politics as usual, yet has been able to work within the existing political structures throughout his career. He has dreams of making America better and works toward them, and believes we can make the changes we need within the system we have. I hope he's right and hope he can convince the American people.

It is such a shame, when Democrats bash a Dem candidate for having the temerity to support a Democratic platform instead of business as usual.

Despite hack attacks, Google bombs and other attempts to make him invisible, his campaign is growing every day. Evidently there are plenty of people who believe that his policies are just what America needs.

**edited to purge my initial ire at the tactics of certain people who seem to think that solid campaigning is throwing verbal molotov cocktails... no need to go there... *taking deep breath and disregarding the ineffectual rantings of the under-informed* **

There is one candidate I have seen who has addressed the ills of our country and put together a comprehensive plan to target them and create positive change. Dennis Kucinich has put the thought in that anyone who presumes to lead us should BEFORE stepping up to the podium. Dunno, he's got so many specifics in there; you'd think he was running for President or something...

And those of you who will be a little short on cash in '04, never fear. I am starting a new job and will be contributing generously. Together, we'll get him there!
