Gossip from the Edwards blog: Pepsi wants to drop Jeff Gordon (re Bush)...
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 12:29 AM by AP
Lots of good gossip on the Edwards blog. Who knows if it's true. Boycott Pepsi.

The American way or the Bush way?

The other night I was standing in line at the store and overheard a well dressed man claiming to be the local distributor for Frito Lay say that Pepsi-co, the parent co. of Frito was going to drop the Nascar sponsorship for Jeff Gordon because he would not meet with Puppetboy (a.k.a. G.W.Bush) because he said he had a prior engagement.

Two things strike me about this, one is the absolute control of peoples lives these slimy bastards wish to have.

The second thing is how much respect for Jeff Gordon I have for not letting them use him as a campaign photo op.

This gives a whole new meaning to their slogan "There ain't no choice, it's pepsi in the U.S.A."

12. I love this picture of John Edwards....what a great dad...
he looks so young and there is nothing more endearing than young fathers caring for their children.

6. In the words of Bobby Hill, "he's a race car driver? I though he was...
...just a cereal model."

Go Jeff!

7. I am very skeptical of this

NASCAR fans often make such rumors up. In 2000 some falsely claimed that the late Dale Earnhardt was going to campaign for Al Gore. Gordon bashers often spread rumors about him being gay and in NASCAR Nation being a liberal is almost as bad as being gay so this likely is just an attempted smear.

9. Hey, I tend not to give this a ton of credibility, but I LOVE it nonethe-
less.

If it isn't true, it should be.

11. Are you a NASCAR fan?
I heard that Mark martin is big liberal who donates a lot to Democrats. Unfortunately, his car owner is apparently a Freeper.

14. Not sure about donations but...
Mark's father was a close friend of Bill Clinton. He used to fly Bill to some of his engagements before he was president. I don't know Mark Martin's political affiliation but he may very well be a Democrat.

10. I didn't know that was their slogan
but it sounds a little too far down wind to worry about just yet.

somebody standing in a store overhearing a conversation form someone who might be a distributor for pepsi?

13. But even if you draw the truth line somewhere between the front office
and the guy existing, it's still revealing.

I would suspect that guys would go around being proud of working for fascistic corporatioins weilding their commercial power in pursuit of ideological aims.

So maybe Pepsi isn't going to drop him. But I can imagine salesman grabbing hold of a corporate rumor like this and running with it.

That's still an interesting commentary on the RW corporate mentality.
