Wolfowitz: "The lesson of 9/11"
"You can't wait for proof." Today, MTP

He said this. Then there was this long pause as he realized just how despicable and autocratic that statement was. Then he back-pedalled a bit. It was unbelieveable.

2. i don't know.
also long as men like wolfowitz keep getting a pass from guys like tim russert in the media, who knows how many more comments like this will continue to go unchallenged?

historians are getting it, though. our kids will (hopefully) know the truth.

3. I think they've been saying this all along
That the situation was too "dire". That they just couldn't wait until they had certain proof. They don't even care, and they're trying to convince less-interested americans to not care, that there may be no WMDs.

Their whole concept of pre-emptive war follows the logic of the juvenile bully: "I hit him because he's a mean person and made a nasty look at me."

4. OK, if not proof, then how about some evidence?
Or is even that too much to ask?

5. Yes, and he deplored the "forgetfulness" of the American people!
He hates that in the future 9-11 may not be the blank check for his war-mongering crew that it has been.

We have to get the transcript when it comes out and tear it apart line by line.

7. Why do I keep seeing Jack Nicholson
in that movie ("A few good men"?) yelling at the young lawyer "You can't handle the truth!"

Wolfowitz, unwittingly or othewise, has just obliterated a primary tenet of due process: innocent until PROVEN guilty.

8. some consistency please
if we don't need "proof" to invade another country, then

we don't need "proof" that bush lied, in order to impeach.

9. he sadly explained that "they" (the EVIL ones) took people
and tortured them...and even took their CHILDREN...

and he says all this in a serious tone...right after bush* public display of the SONS' bloody heads, saddam's children...

and went into AGAIN, this continuous....they tortured people, you wouldn't believe what those EVIL people did, there are lots of graves...some people have come back to the torture chambers to LOOK FOR THEIR HANDS...so, we had to do it...
