DU only rates 12 on "annoying liberals" list
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1036108/posts

12) The Democratic Underground
The Democratic Underground is like the unconscious id of the Democratic Party. If you want to see what the left is like when no one is looking, there is no better place to go than the DU. Don't bother posting though, because they ruthlessly delete and ban everyone who doesn't tow the party line. All the better though, because the Democratic Underground is such a great source of material that everyone from RWN, to Andrew Sullivan, to Rush Limbaugh has taken to quoting them. That not a big surprise when you can find whole threads full of people at the DU saying...

-- They wish American soldiers would die.
-- How stupid and uninformed Americans are because they voted for Bush.
-- The "Bush Family Evil Empire" killed Kennedy!
-- There are Nazi traitors in the White House.
-- They hope Iraq defeats the United States.

Trust me, there's plenty more where that came from.

Defining Quote: "GI Joe loves Bush and GI's from Florida even bragged about voiting for him more than once. Well, I look at it this way: there is more than one way to get your f*cking brains blown out for your country. The generals have warned how ultimately bloody and bogged down this fairy tale sweep of Iraq in 3 days and 15 minutes is going to be. Hopefully as these repuke loving GI's die and are attacked by gas/chemicals, etc., the result will be a turning against Bush here in the Homeland by the brain dead public. Maybe by the deaths of these GI Neandethals who think that Bush and the repukes are God, "we the people" will be able to have the ammo to overthrow this Nazi regime. Too bad these guys can't take a hint from their brass and understand that they are being used, their safety disregarded, simply for the advancement of corporate America. But if they can't figure out what their brass already knows and keep up these insance cheers for the repukes and hisses for the Dems, maybe their deaths will return this country to the people as they realize that Bush's dream team is simply a nightmare of old, sick, has beens." -- From DU poster Starpass

I don't recall seeing the name. Also, wasn't there some huge controversy with him/her?

9. Actually, I believe it is "toe the line".
If I rememebr correctly it is a very old military term. When you stood fopr inspection you were to line up on a line painted on the floor. By default your toes were expected to be on the line. ie "you better toe that line Boy!"

If anyone knows any better please let me know.

12. "Toe the line' is correct, as in, in the military, to step up to the line
at "Attention", all the soldiers, in a line, all in a row.

It mean "to Conform." To "get in line". To be the same as everyone else.

Not much sense in saying 'tow the line' which would be to drag a line behind you.

peeve.

20. Thanks muriel_volestrangler. Maybe we can file an appeal.
With the Freeper High Council and suggest that they
must have overlooked something if we're not even in
the top ten.

I haven't seen those posts before but then as much time as I spend here I can't read everyone, I guess some people can. Of the excerpts on "rightwingnews" I didn't see how those inflammatory posts where responded to.

8. How silly
They criticize the policy of banning people who are not liberals. Does free republic have such a policy for banning people who are not right wingers? Yup.

21. Where the hell is Chomsky?
"Paul Krugman is the Noam Chomsky of economics...

"Mark Morford (sounds like) a 15 year old who spent his summer listening to Noam Chomsky & Deepak Chopra books on tape."

I mean, shit- these two guys are annoying because they're Chomsky-esque, but Chomsky himself is not listed?

Think, Freeper, think!

Hmmm... do these people even know anything about Freak Republic? The are quick to remove anything Rimjob doesn't like!

Ahhh, sheeple!

I like that we're #12. Gives us incentive to try harder.

Here's my pitch for #11:

Hey freepers! You support facism!!!

Treason: Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.

Traitor: If you do not support our President's decisions you are a traitor.

Get to know your traitor!

Bush you have to not support to be a traitor?
