3. Some of the better lines in the speeches?
I nominate Dean's "That's not the only fake turkey in this administration."

Others?

Then sneak out after a couple of hours like a genuine
chickenhawk.

8. "We need to take the for sale sign off the white house..."
"...and put up a sign that says 'for the american people.'"

- John Edwards

Also from his speech, "We need to get rid of Bush in 2004, and you know what else we need to do?"

"Get rid of his brother."
- unknown member of the audience

7. Moderator
you should have a separate thread for the forum that has Clark, Kucinich, and Dean in it. I think they're the only candidates to show at 8 or 8:30.

1)Gebhardt
2)Edwards
3)Kerry
4)Clark
5)Dean
6)Kucinich

All were great, Clark and dean both got standing ovations from the full house, a lot of great lines.

Outside there was a face to face with dean supporters chanting "We want dean" and Clark supporters chanting "Go Wes Go", after about 5 mins. both groups were chanting "No More Bush" in one voice, It was great!

retyred in fla
“good night paul, wherever you are”

42. We have GREAT candidates!
I saw everyone today except Edwards. Surprisingly, I thought the best speech was by GEPHARDT. It was one of the best-delivered speeches I've ever seen.

He is a true Democrat. He articulated the true Democratic values. It was a masterpiece. Great Bush slamming and great policy. He was courageous.

I haven't thought much about him and have always had the opinion he rolled too much too easily. But he was awesome today. Anybody else think so?

43. Gephardt had my favorite line from the convention
Clark's my candidate, but Gephardt delivered one of my favorite lines today when he said, "if you spent the last three years working under Bush, you'd be running for president too."
They were all awesome though. ALL of them!

45. Just got another call from my friends at the convention.
They said the reception held by Dean and Graham was just wonderful. They walked in together with big smiles.
Hey, us Graham lovers know something is up....even if not VP it is something.
They got to talk to Dean, and Graham both.
She said Dean's energy was just amazing.

48. Graham Talking To All The Candidates, Not Just Dean
according to this article:

Presidential hopefuls size up Florida senators

Democrats explore how state could help unseat Bush

By Paige St. John
FLORIDA TODAY

LAKE BUENA VISTA -- Presidential politics consumed Florida's Democratic convention Saturday, as would-be nominees took turns claiming they are the "One" to beat George Bush.

Sequined acrobats on stilts paraded the hallways, accompanied by wailing bagpipes. Activists from competing campaigns shouted down one another in the halls. And vendors did brisk trade in anti-Bush T-shirts.

In private corners, the focus on Florida's role in the 2004 presidential election was even sharper.

U.S. Sen. Bob Graham slipped aside to meet with candidate Wesley Clark -- suggesting he is being sized up as a running mate. Graham said he offered Clark access to a group of moderate Democrats he leads in the Senate.

"Our membership would be very receptive," Graham told Clark as they stepped off his campaign bus parked outside a Disney convention center.

"I think we can put together a group of House and Senate Democrats that would be very interested in what his message is, and could be helpful," Graham said afterward.
