After listening to Cokie this AM, I felt "Dirty"....
Like a voyeur or something. Felt like I just overheard somebody getting some really good head.

"Bush has GROWN as President..."
Oh, SPARE me Cokie Roberts! Why don't you go to work for FAUX instead of soiling NPR?

1. Is this an admission?
That he was just an infant before...

What, is he a toddler now? I had always wondered where the term 'bunnypants' came from. Hrrrmmm...perhaps Cokie says more than she realizes!

4. it's kind of surreal
looking back just a few years, how all the whores spoke of Clinton with total disgust in their voices, then noticing everything they're totally overlooking with Bush.

It's weird how little you hear about the impeachment. Such a historic event, it only happened 5 years ago, and yet it seems to have vanished from people's memories.

3. How does she keep a job? - never mind, I don't want to know...
She regurgitates the week's events and then equivocates as to the political impact. Her "analysis" pretty much boils down to: "This could be good - unless it's bad."

ANYBODY, even Smirky himself, could do her job. :eyes:

6. Yeah, is he grown up yet?
Just how much has he grown? Give us some specifics rather than that BS! Is he still a child or is he now an adolescent? Or has he grown into an intelligent adult?

12. The social world of D.C.,and suburbs,
in my opinion, is the most insulated, provincial community in America. There's money, power, and status involved, and D.C. media want it all. The press who live there are blind to, ignorant of, and/or uncaring about, the consequences to our country of Bush & Co.'s actions and policies. They play the game. They would deny it, but they don't give a fig about journalism.

19. You're right
and Cokie is very concerned about her place in the Beltway clique. It's more important to her than any journalism ethics. Anyway, that's my opinion. At one time, I thought she and her husband were decent but I think people get hardened over time and protective of their social standing among their cohorts. MWO is right to call them the cool kids (or something like that).

27. Her dad is on the "Bush Body Count" list. Died in a plane crash.
Mybe that's part of it?

I wonder the same thing about Judy Woodruff. It was, after all, her husband Al Hunt who was confronted at a dinner by W for saying something negative about Poppy and his reply was: "You mother#$%#er, we're not going to forget this."

 My $.02

8. It was depressing
I don't know what side she's on but she was talking about how all the dems are depressed because they thugs have them on the run and are basically gloating over it. Said we are basically looking at the crushing of the dem party.

9. "Democrats in Disarray" the whore carries the GOP message banner
yes, I heard her this morning. After a few months of moderation and being absent from NPR, she is back to her shameless GOP promotions.

You folks ought to write some direct and polite letters to NPR/Mourning Edition. The email is on the Mourning Edition webpage at www.npr.org

25. Amen, Spike Trees.
I was going to suggest the same thing. Maybe we can tell Cokie we didn't get her $@#!! memo that we were supposed to be all depressed. Me, I feel the Demorats should be more like the persecuted church -- stronger and more determined for having to put up with out-and-out bullies, corrupt overlords, and oppressors.

WE'RE NOT GOING AWAY.

10. I woke up to this gag fest
this a.m. More and more I am turning off NPR - this poor excuse for an "analyst" ..analyst??????? how about hack for the right wing? she is sooooooo simpering, wimpering, about the poor Democrats. I can just see her holding her nose when she even has to mention Democrats while gushing all over herself about the *.

This is another reason I will never give $ to NPR again.

. . the first thing I focussed on was when I heard her say the Dem candidates were all "dumbstruck" at Bush's* masterful trip to Bagdhad. Bad way to start the week.

I think, in the D.C. social echo-chamber (which includes that nice man, Karl Rove, and various blue-blooded Bushes). These people are clueless about the real world.

21. "Dumbstruck" is right.
I was dumbstruck that Rove, Inc. thought they could pull this off w/o anyone saying "Oh, he's just going there to steal Hillary's thunder...",

But I over-estimated their audience...Now they have footage they can use instead of that embarrassing "Commander Codpiece" aircraft carrier stuff. why don't they just do this shit on a sound stage? your average Murkan will believe the meme about forgetting when it was in the news, anyway....

"Commander Codpiece V2.0"

18. actually, I believe he has, in many ways
Bush is a much better President today than when he was elected. Of course, that's not saying a whole hell of a lot, kinda reminiscent of claiming that since KoKo can understand five different signs, she's a smarter Chimp. Well sure, but she's still a fucking Chimpanzee.

24. That bitch led the media charge against Al Gore...
... she was saying bull**** like "people don't like him," and talking about his image like that was the most important thing - her comments on the debates were the most shallow observations I have ever seen, and they gave the impression that nothing much was at stake if George Bush became President.

And we know how that worked out.

26. The unkindest cut...
Cokie, whose mother was an elected Democrat, had fallen from grace years ago. The media still lets her push her opinions in the Democratic slot; that is the saddest part. Just because Cokie wants to be considered kewl, Democrats lose the an opportunity for a progessive voice.

NPR with its pockets of good programming is become a pig sty.

32. Amen to that
BigMcLargehuge. Diane Rehm is a treat.

Cokie is so obviously biased and her tone is so condescending that she irritates the snot out of me. She has nothing interesting or valuable to say - and it's all just right wing crap, stated a little less militantly than Hannity, Rush, et al.
