Ten suggestions to help prevent 2004 election fraud...

1.No Bush/Harris disenfranchisement of blacks: Inspect voter registration rolls-before the fact.

2.No hiding the true election results: Require Exit Polling

3.No vote switching in Cyberspace: Require a Voter-Verified Paper Trail (VVPT)

4.No voter intimidation: Require election observers

5.No LePore Butterfly shenanigans: Review the ballot design - before the fact.

6.No early media call of the election: Remember the Bush relative at Fox and Jack Welch at NBC?

7.No more calling Volusia County type Gore vote dropping a "computer glich": It's the Diebold hacking, stupid.

8.No trusting the results: Recount any suspicious totals - statewide.

9.No ignoring the Diebold precincts: Monitor them closely.

10.No excusing Dems/Repubs who ignore these solutions: They are the problem. Expose them.

RE: Suggestion 9 ...

Is it possible to remotely sense cellular-data communications that may occur between polling centers and clandestine operators 'possibly' attempting to capitalize on the vulnerability of DRE/BBV voting systems and manipulate election results ?

Can someone eavesdrop and record electronic communication signals at voting/computing centers during election day ???

Can these signals be reasonably and accurately interpreted ???

Is this legal ????

8. I'd agree and also suggest
making sure your local Democratic Party is as involved as possible in the election to the fullest extent the law allows in your state.

Election equipment testing: have a rep there. In Iowa it's allowed and a person may have a test round of ballots submitted for voting. Any discrepancies must be addressed.

Pollwatchers at every polling site during the whole day. I've noticed locally the parties just go to sites sporadically to review eligiblity slips to see who's voted.

Observers on site to see the results tallied at every precinct when the polls close.

observers at the absentee board to see which ballots are approved and which are not. In a close election this would be a way to gether evidence for a court challenge if ther is any hanky-panky.

Making sure everyone who wants to vote does. Under the HAVA Act all states must provide provisional ballots.

Some of these things may be allowed in your state, some may not. But party people locally need to know the law and be active!

9. KNOW YOUR STATE LAWS
Start researching and studying now.

And here's another thing: They learned a valuable lesson in FL, which is "don't let the election results be close."

Close elections trigger recounts, either by state law (in some cases) or because candidates request them. In most if not all states, the only recounts that can happen are at candidate requests OR automatically triggered because of the closeness of an election. WE NEED TO SEE ABOUT GETTING THESE LAWS CHANGED TO MORE LIBERAL PROVISIONS. For example, I see nothing wrong with citizens being able to request recounts -- maybe not just one citizen, maybe not for free and maybe not under all circumstances (like a 90% - 10% victory where the pre-election polls pretty much supported results like that), but under some circumstances.

One of the things we're asked in Georgia is, well if you think there was something wrong with the results, why didn't the candidates? Barnes and Cleland both don't believe there was anything wrong.

Wellllllllll, maybe they're too stooopid to think there was anything wrong. And, there could be other reasons too (hint: SoS Cathy Cox who bought the damn machines DID win, and she's a Dem).
