Our liberal pundits stink
I am watching Capital Gang where the draft was discussed. Kate O'Brien said that "liberal elites won't serve let their kids serve their country" Who was the only US Reprenetative or Congressman with a child in Iraq? Yep, a Democrat Senator Johnson. Not one of the three liberals mentioned that fact. Or for that matter the fact that of the current Congressional leadership only Daschle has served. For shame.

1. The MAIN problem we have is WE allow them to define us
It really is despicable. We MUST start underscoring how VERY unpatriotic those that challenge us are...it WILL resonate if heard.

2. Our troops are asleep at the switch...
It's amazing how many times liberals let right-wingers walk over them on these issues. No wonder nobody takes us seriously.

4. Damn Straight
They never have the facts at hand when then need them. Remember when Cheney bragged in the VP debate that he made his money in the private sector? He actually got his Halliburton job solely because of connections he forged while in government. Lieberman let it pass, perhaps because he doesn't believe in 'class warfare'.

We have to have people who will fight for what's right and not worry about appealing to a 'center' that no longer exists. Don't let them get away with ANYTHING!

6. Not just that, after he got the job he got Halliburton lots of good
contracts with the US Defense Department and Brazilian Defense Department based on his contacts. That's how he made his money - from the taxpayers - just like all of Bush's family and friends.

They don't make anything, they just manipulate things so that they can transfer money from the taxpayers in their own pockets.

10. The thing is
WHAT LIBERAL PUNDITS???

Seriously, there seem to be right-wing pundits, right-of-center pundits, center pundits and DLC pundits.

We need Katrina V. from The Nation or Bernie Sanders from VT; not the moderates they claim are 'liberals'!

11. its an act. like the washington generals playing the globetrotters
to get to the point where a "liberal" can even get on one of these programs they have already shown that they will not rock the boat. they sold their souls long before they got the gig.

and that's the point. a journalist with liberal beliefs knows not to show them to the boss otherwise his/her path to success is blocked.

last week on c-span there was a group of politicans speaking before a senate committee about the proposed medicare changes. two of these people were sen rick "man-on-dog" santorum and bernie sanders the independent rep from vermont.

santorum as usual, was over the top with rhetoric (really bad rhetoric) and misrepresentation of the facts, and was outright lying.

bernie ripped santorum up, io mean ripped him from asshole to belly button and humiliated santorum, it was so bad sen. olympia snowe, sitting on the committee even laughed about how bad sanders made santorum look.

you dont see that kind of attack, or in-your-face liberals on these shows because they would never be allowed on a tv program to combat the rightwing because the producers of the shows know damn right well what would happen to the content of the show if a chomsky, zinn, gore vidal, or even eric alterman or DU's own will pitt would be allowed to speak and refute the right wing lies and not just sit there all nicy nice either, but actually calling a spade a spade, i have yet to see anywhere where a liberal calls an opponent an outright liar and racist and threat to democracy.

just once, i would love to see some right winger get punched right in the mouth by a liberal and bloody the face of one of these cheese-dick conservative assholes.

that, i would pay to see on pay per view tv.

and having a pie instead of a fist in their faces for the past 25 years has allowed them to push, push, push the agenda more and more, to the point where even military veterans are now accused of being traitors if they dont salute bush and his fascist bastards.

this is from dave neiwert’s article at smirking chimp, and at dave’s Orcinus site.

AND YOU HAD BETTER READ IT.

http://www.smirkingchimp.com/article.php?sid=13945&mode=nested&order=0

"How is any kind of normative political discourse possible in this environment? How is it possible to be civil to people who constantly are placing you under assault? How can there be dialogue when the normative rules of give and take and fair play have not only been flushed down the drain, but chopped into bits and swept out with the tide? Do the advocates of civility place any onus on the nonstop verbal abuse, and absolutely ruthless, win-at-all-costs politics emanating from the conservative quadrant? And do they really expect liberals to refuse to defend themselves, when even doing so gets them accused of further incivility?

"I'll believe conservatives are serious about civil, adult dialogue when they step back and give liberals some breathing room. When "civil" conservatives seriously confront the violent and vicious rhetoric coming from their own quarters; when they do away with suggesting that their political opponents are somehow disloyal Americans; and when they finally acknowledge that people's concerns about the legitimacy of the process by which Bush obtained office are not only well grounded but driven more by patriotic feeling than partisan rancor -- then, perhaps, they can expect to start seeing some civility in return."

http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/

i intend to fight these bastards every step of the way, BECAUSE ITS CLEAR NOBODY'S FIGHTING FOR ME.

13. I'm just finishing Al Franken's book and he
calls Alan Colmes the Washington General playing the Globetrotters. I haven't laughed so much reading a book in a long time, but I've also never been so outraged. Especially about the Wellstone memorial slime fest. A must read.

16. I watched about two minutes of
the Capital Gang tonight. I heard Kate O'Beirn call Dean's draft deferment "phony" and when somebody mentioned * she said at least he served in uniform--nobody said anything about him being a deserter. Margaret Carlson said that the debate the other night was the first time Howard Dean smiled on the campaign trail.

I hope their viewers are aware they have no idea what they're talking about.

Seems to me like theres your average rightwing pundit, and then a whole lotta centrists. Its pretty rare to find an actual liberal on TV.
