Create a TV ad that tells the truth about George W. Bush.

Sick of the propaganda being beamed at you from the current administration's media mavens? Here's a new way to fight back: Enter MoveOn.org Voter Fund's political ad contest. You don't have to be formally trained in the art of filmmaking, just ready, willing and able to create an ad that tells the truth about George Bush.

All eligible submissions will be posted on this web site and rated by visitors. The top rated ads will then be voted on by our panel of esteemed judges, including Michael Moore, Donna Brazile, Jack Black, Janeane Garofalo, Margaret Cho and Gus Van Sant. The winning ad idea will be broadcast on television during the week of Bush's 2004 State of the Union address, and the winner will receive a recording of the ad as broadcast.

To enter, just make a 30 second ad and submit it through this web site. Submissions will be accepted between November 24th and December 5th, 2003 and voting on the site will run between December 15th and December 30th, 2003.

3. I like the one labeled 30 sec, with the interviews

Mostly because the biggest myth the Republicans put out is that they have some some sort of majority over public opinion, which is totally ridiculous. One thought, if you have the time, insert another clip of someone saying "I wish I would have voted in 2000"

Of course, you'd have to edit out about 3 or 4 secs for that, but just a suggestion.

He does say bullet or the ballot and then advocates voting so I think it is fine. I think it drives home the point that voting is the only real power we have and the alternative is ugly.

12. The one I would love to see is

An add using Bush* campaign speeches saying "I Trust the People". I envision about eight or ten sound bites of Bush* saying those famous words and then a sound bite of him saying during the court battle of election 2000 We can't trust the people as they are subjective while machines are objective so only machines are reliable. Not exact quote but very close. I'm sure his exact quote can be found easily. I don't know anything about making an ad but would love to see that blatant display of hypocrisy.

I'll be babbling about a DVD of all this accumulated debris soon enough.

Hope this contest is being used as almost a "talent scout" type process to determine where to spend that gooey Sorosian wealth. Wouldn't it be nice to have an actual budget for these things?
