Dean and the so-called anger issue.
Alright, this seems to be the buzz about Dean: that he's a hothead and is therefore unelectable. You'd think it would be best to try and piss up a rope for all the approval it would get these pundits.

Remember the '02 elections? We all know that the lack of anger and passion in politics was what killed the democrats and gave whistle-ass the mandate he didn't get two years ago. If you remember further back than that, the so-called "angry white male" that Time magazine featured on one of its covers as the hub of the so-called "republican revolution". Did the 'pukes seem to have a problem with "electability" over the "anger" issue then? Of course not.

What perhaps drives these people is fear. Fear of not just of real anger over lost jobs and lost loved ones in the Iraq war but the fear of change in many levels.

There is also an even greater fear with knowing that such anger is justified. Dean to his credit has done much to reflect the rising tide of anger that has swelled within all the walls of isolation and despair across the country-ones that have been put in place by two-stepping double-talking shit-kickers that couldn't carry the big sticks that belong to the big folks.

Dean shouldn't change his tune or lower his voice just because someone whines about how loud his message to america is, not when they've been listening to all the noise coming from the right. After all, if the message hurts the ears it isn't because of the volume.

It is because of the truth that is in it.

1. It hasn't even HAPPENED...
...and still people bitch. With Kerry's vitrolic attacks at the debates, he could've started screaming. He didn't. With the dogpile at the Rock the Vote debate, he could've started screaming. He didn't. I mean...WHEN is he going to lose it, if he's such a hothead? It's alllllllllll bull.

Later.

3. Have you noticed that Clark and Dean people have been...
Getting along quite well as of late? Is it that we (I'm a Deanie at this point) smell the winning combo in 04 as either Clark/Dean or Dean/Clark? Remember that Dean wanted to ask Clark to be his running mate early on, and lately Clark has even come to Dean's aid by telling the other candidates to lay off the bullshit irrelevent whining of Dean's positions 10 years ago.

I'll tell you right now that I'd be a happy cat if Dean gets the nomination, but just as comfey and supportive if Clark does and brings Dean along.

4. I Think Wesley Clark Crossed a Major Threshold Today in That
Clark announcing he would not opt out of the matching funds system would tend to suggest not going up against Bush (and needing to pass the $45 million spending limit).

Are we seeing the first signs of an alliance, that one candidate leaves the system (to be better prepared to do battle against Bush) and the other stays in it (to get as much federal funds help as possible)?

6. A hothead, eh? This has to be Rovian in origin.
Identical to the rumors about McCain during the 2000 primaries.

Exactly identical.

9. Dean once mouthed "Not true!" while Geppy was
mischaracterizing his stance on Medicare at one of the debates.

So far, that was hothead Dean blowing his top. We can't have this type of instability in the Whitehouse, I tell you!!!!

Ignore the memes and follow the dreams.

10. There's no anger issue, yet ....
When Dean is a lock for the nomination,
then Rove and friends will start to use it in
order to give him the full McCain "unbalanced"
treatment.

It's powerful, because it uses Dean's strength of
determined forthrightness against him-- each emphatic
counterattack will be used as "proof" of his anger.

But it's mighty simple to stop right now. Dean has to get
himself on all the entertainment TV shows and show he's a regular
guy. Poke some fun at himself even. Stop the attacks at the level of popular culture, before they even begin! Leno was a good start.

.. this film upset me the first time I saw it.. but the more I watch, the more I smile .. I can't wait for anti-res ads .. so much to work with there ..

These clips of Dean were very early in the year by the way and he is showing that the response of the crowd got him even more stirred up ..

thanks for the post neuvocat

12. It's the Establishment again
They are attacking Dean only because he's a maverick, just like McCain. Dean can't be controlled by the establishment and they hate it enough to find any bullshit excuse to bring the guy down.

The mere fact that he's being attacked means he is for real, he's an honest and true grass-roots rebel.

He has a right to be angry. Real men get angry at injustice.

Dean is just...so real.
