How anti-climatic!
20 minutes after the polls closed, and they're already finished counting the ballots here in Cornwall.

3 of the 9 incumbents who ran for the 10 council positions survived. (Kennedy, Lalonde (probably bolstered by his brother's provincial campaign), and Bhargava)...Of the 29 who ran, the last 6 places were occupied by 3 incumbents (including Syd Gardiner...Jerk-off low-lifes in the bars voted him off for fighting so hard for the smoking by-law...I voted for him because we're fellow New Democrats and because I agreed with him strongly on the smoking by-law...Thankfully, the homophobic Don Deebank did equally poorly and some loser who treated my mom like crap in high school also got his butt whuppped.)

Phil Poirier, Mayor from 1989 to 1992, upset incumbent Brian Sylvester, while once popular councillor Andr Rivette got slaughtered in the mayoral race. I voted for Sylvester...

Separate School Trustee, the progressive and the tightwad left a competent moderate in the dust...I accidentally voted for the right-wing tightwad because I had no idea who they were and he was the incumbent.
