Poll question: General Election: if Dean were leading or trailing by huge margin...

...in your state, do you think, by virtue of it being Dean with the nomination, would you be more likely or less likely to vote for a third party?


What I'm trying to capture is the "he's not quite what I'm looking for" sentiment.

I voted for Gore in a state that Gore won by a HUGE margin. I like the Green Party, but I really feared a Bush victory, and I wanted to make sure that I was counted as a Democrat voting Democratic in 2000. Also, although I had a huge problem with Gore as a candidate, and although the Green Party platform is where I'm at politically, I still LOVE the Democratic Party (and I love a poltical winner), and, in a tie, I'll almost always vote Democratic over Green. Obviously there are other people who fall to the left of that sentiment.

I want to know, in 2004, how many people see themselves falling to the left of that threshold, and how many fall to the right of that thresshold, particularly if Dean is the nominee.

So, if Dean is the nominee and is being blown out, or if Dean is blowing Bush out in your state would you be more inclined to vote third party in 2004?

...rather than the insipid debate between the left and the totally discredited right. I got tired of the press acting like the right had anything reasonable to bring to the table.
