I'm getting tickets for one of these!

Sites for next year's three presidential debates also were announced yesterday by the Commission on Presidential Debates, the nonpartisan, nonprofit group that sponsors the events. The schedule includes:

University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla., Sept. 30.

Washington University, St. Louis, Oct. 8.

Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz., Oct. 13.

All debates are scheduled to start at 9 p.m., and the commission expects to announce the format for each event early next year, said Janet Brown, a commission spokeswoman.

Case Western Reserve University will host next year's vice-presidential debate, an event expected to focus national and international attention on Northeast Ohio.

Besides showcasing the region, the Oct. 5 debate will be "a giant civics lesson," said Dr. Edward Hundert, Case's president.

1. Bush has agreed to this? I bet he makes war ..or has a headache
or chokes or something...He would have to spend all year practicing to do a debate...hes a busy guy..no time for anything but making war and stealing natural resources and money from the citizenry of this country and Iraq...so little time...so much to grab.

2. I've heard rumors that Bush will avoid debates.
However, I doubt he's going to be able to pull the "don't you dare question me!" crap forever. This has got to get old, despite a wealth of wishy-washy types among journalists.

I'd also like to see Bush have to take audience questions, as with the Democrats' debate, especially if we can seed the audience with bellicose social justice enthusiasts and peaceniks. Fifteen or sixteen friars or nuns will do nicely, with a few servicemen's mothers tossed into the bunch.
