Kuchinich on NPR - response to caller linking 9/11 to Iraq
Where I live, Dennis Kucinihc was on NPR's Talk of the Nation at 1:00 today. I was on my way back to work, so I couldn't catch the entire segment, but I did here a caller call in and basically say this:

"I'm calling in because I support President Bush because I believe that there are some things that are worth fighting for, and we shouldn't forget the 3000 people that died on 9/11 and our commitment to security of this nation"

Kucinich responded really well I thought. First, he didn't alienate the caller by getting upset or attacking her (it was a woman). But he said that her call was important because it only reaffirmed why a new direction was needed in the country. He refered to her linking of 9/11 to Iraq and pointed out that this was a complete untruth - without blaming her -- and he also went on to agree that we should be committed to security, which is exactly why we should change our strategy in Iraq because the bush doctrine undermines security not enhances it...

I thought it was a great answer, but sadly, I couldn't hear the rest of the program... I need to get a radio at work. I normally stream Mike Malloy courtesy of whiterosesociety! (THANK YOU GUYS!)

5. Right...
If he were so great, why was he too afraid to go on Chris Matthews? The guy is only good in liberal friendly venues.

6. because few can accept what he says?
on the standard that the American people simply are not good, so his altruistic American values simply won't work?

3. Go to the NPR website.
I think TotN logs audio files for their program there. You can probably catch the entire interview that way.

4. it'll be there after 6PM EST

Even many who opposed the war in Iraq now agree that U.S. troops should stay and help rebuild the country. But there are those who disagree. From immediate withdrawal to internationalization and strict deadlines, we look at alternative exit strategies from Iraq.

The audio for this program will be available online after 6PM ET, 3PM PT.
