fwiw- to the political operatives on this board
...and the people who rabidly support a particular candidate.

If you're a political operative you should care...if you're one of the rabid supporters, you probably won't, but I have to say that since all the infighting among candidates has ramped up over the last few months, I find I spend less and less time reading about any candidate.

So, I'm getting less information, rather than more, when people can't let their candidate win on his or her own merits.

When I do come across some thread and read the rabid putdowns from someone who supports whoever over whomever, I start to hate your candidate.

That's too bad, cause I've always wanted to be able to vote for someone I wanted to win for his or her own sake, and not because it was a choice of the lesser of two evils.

Of course, I will never, ever vote for Bush. I care about the fate of this country too much.

But if you're a dem and not a Rove-ing dirty trickster, I don't understand why you would spend so much time trashing another democrat.

Like I say, I'm sure this won't matter to too many here, but if you want to sway people to support your candidate, you couldn't do a worse job if you tried when you constantly accuse other candidates of cannibalism, or the horror du jour.

Just my two cents.

4. I don't read them anymore, either...
At first, it didn't bother me, but as I became more involved in a certain campaign, it made me angry and disgusted. Now, I'm pretty much for any Dem who grabs the nomination. I can't afford to waste my energy getting angry at other candidate's supporters, which I have done too many times already, because that only defeats the purpose of all of us eventually uniting behind the Dem candidate for President, and against Bush. I have this horrible feeling some people are going to get really burned out from all of this, and come election day, they won't bother to show up at the polls.

11. That is a frightening thought.
But, I feel almost the entire board is ABB, so it's important to remember that is the bottom line for most of us. The agitators now, are another story.

5. The only thing that really matters
is after all is said and done will you support the candidate that the majority puts forward to kick Bushie out of office?

6. DU has become nearly useless for discussing the candidates
a very few people here have made it that way.

I'm not going to ask a question about a candidate, because I know someone with an agenda will write some knee-jerk response, usually negative but even some positive responses are equally annoying.

7. Because this is a political board
Don't you think we are informed enough on the candidates to have already made up our minds? I chose Dean months ago. Nothing I could hear except his outright rejection of protection of Israel would change my mind about him. The same with Clark.
I love Sharpton but he can't win.
I like Carol Mosley Braun but she can't win.
I like John Edwards but he can't win.
I like John Kerry but he can't win.
I don't particularly care for Gephardt or especially Lieberman and knew when he was touting his magnaminous proclamation that if Al Gore ran he wouldn't (WHATEVER!) he had no chance in hell of winning anything Presidential.
Kucinich is too excitable and too short.
I missed somebody but they can't win either.

8. I ignore those threads like the plague.
I don't know who I am voting for yet. I like Dean, Clark and Kerry. There is something good and bad about all of them. I just want one of them to beat Bush.

9. I hear you, RainDog
I still read and post at DU every day, but I don't think I've opened a candidate thread in ages. The only positive is that they are so busy fighting each other, I think we have been able to have some really substantiative discussions around here lately.

12. I NEVER read candidate threads, toooooo much
fighting. I am undecided and will stay that way until the last minute before the primaries. I am ABB all the way, however am very paranoid about a dem plant.

It is not just candidate threads that are victimized by operatives. There are alot of infiltrators out here lately.

13. I haven't got my heart set on a candidate yet but honestly
if I had my candidate, I would be afraid to name the name for fear that there are ones that will bash me for picking the wrong candidate! I appreciate the dedication some DU'ers have to their candidate but I notice a line that gets crossed more often than not.

15. Feel the same way
I never read canidate threads, my favorite time here is when people would get together and research, so much to learn about so many things. How about Burson-Marsteller, DUreader?
