Repuke Ninnies close down Capitol. Now what?
We now know that it was two Repuke staffers who closed down the Capitol for at least an hour today with a toy gun they brought through a security checkpoint.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/South/10/30/canon.building/index.html

What sort of IDIOT brings a toy gun into the House Office Building?

What happens now? Should they be fired? Banned from the building? Censured? What?

You know, I just cannot see a Dem staffer pulling a stunt like this. This is the act of a person whose cluelessness is bred in the bone.

2. I was in a Bank watching this on CNN
and all the Repugs were up in arms about a GUN in the office building. I wonder what they are saying now.

9. Actually, I once got searched by a Capitol Cop
I was wearing a pair of pruning shears on my belt, on my way to the US Botanic Garden, which is near the Capitol building. The cop saw the leather holster hanging down below my jacket, and raced his car up in front of me, got out, and asked me to stop and put my hands in front of me, then to turn around, so he could lift up the back of my jacket.

Then I had to explain where I was going, and why I had these shears. (This was around '93, so I didn't get to say that I was planning to trim some Bushes, if you know what I mean.) Anyhow, I had to go into a long explanation about how I was going to an event at the Botanic Garden, and needed the shears to do some flower arranging for the group having a party there, etc. It was amusing at the time. But post 9/11, I would *never* think of going anywhere near the place with any sort of sharp object, even shears.

BTW, Henry Waxman actually came to our fundraiser, and it was cool to meet him.

4. As soon as they reported that the lady had on a pink blouse,
I kind of figured she wasn't trying to get away with anything. She would be awfully easy to spot.

6. Par for the course
If they had good judgement, they wouldn't be GOP staffers.

8. Imperial arrogance--these Busheviks will walk scot-free
There IS NO RULE OF LAW for Busheviks, allies, capos, buttons, anthrax assassins, leakers, etc.

NO...RULE...OF...LAW

Period.

These Busheviks will walk scot-goddamned-free.

Bank on it like you can bank on Clowning Kit Seely's next Clark article to have the theme, "Clark is confused."

10. Yeah, they're probably having drinks now
and laughing about it in their "Alien" costumes.

If it were *anyone* but a Repuke staffer, they would be in jail right now.

I think they should be fined, fired and *then* forgotten.
