Novak Is INSANE! (ammend the Constitution to let Ah-nold run for Prez)
he is REALLY going to ask that after the break

paraphrasing:

"isn't it time to ammend the Constitution to let Arnold run for President? he did such a good job today at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue that we should revisit the question."

Getting the Federal Code amended to prevent those involved with "outing" undercover CIA agents being charged as TRAITORS!

Someday, he's going to have to answer to those crimes (yes, he's done it more than once!) :grr:

B-)

If this wasn't in the "Arnold" context I would be all for it. The "born American" clause was just a nasty insert to the Constitution to prevent a former Brit from becoming President back when the country was very young.

I say amend the Constituion to allow anyone to become President who has been an US citizen for 20 years.

25. That's what I was getting at.

If Germany had an Amendment that specified Only true Germans could be elected to the highest office then maybe things would have worked out differently there.

I have a friend, German born, living in California, and I asked him if he was voting for Ahh-nold.

He said "No. We germans have had bad luck when voting Austrians into power."

The "born American" clause is as old as our government!
The law that let FRD serve more than two terms is what we need to explore! Bill Clinton would slaughter Bush and Arnold both in a fair election! So if we can change the laws for Are-null we can change them for Bill!

30. Here's the clause
There was no limitation (or law) prior to FDR regarding two terms - it was just the tradition and custom.

"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States. Begala or Carvil should just look him square in the eye and ask him, "Have you gone totally fucking insane?"

They should either do that or just slap him silly on national TV.

How else can you respond to somebody that holds the constitution in such low regard?

Why would you want to amend the constitution for this reason? To get Arnold, another GOP/BFEE puppet the presidency?

20. If the Pukes in Washington tried to amend/screw the

constitution for their jaded political gain then I believe that there is really little alternative than to either take up arms and/or storm the capitol en masse.

I hate to say it, but scheduled marches only work so long as the laws of the land are not perverted to the will of a select few.

I am seriously hoping that Novak is on his way out.

32. Yes, to get a Bushevik puppet as Emperor to fufill a specific function
After the reign of Emperor Jeb, they are going to need an amiable dupe, preferably one who is easily controlled by his skeletons in the closet and isn't too bright...

In 2016, most everyone will realize that Amerika is a hereditary Empire. Some will be upset. The Freepers will be orgasmic (they always wanted a One-Party System like the Soviet Union anyway).

So, Ahnold will be an absolute necessity, he will serve as Emperor I'm-a-Bushevik-but-my-name-ain't-Bush-so-stop-saying-we-are-a-hereditary-Empire.

I first thought it might be Bushevik Capos Ridge or Racicot, but everyone knows they are Imperial Family Lap-Dogs.

No, Ahnold, like Raygun before him, gives the Busheviks "plausible deniability" on the Empire thing and, considering that Ahnold, like Raygun before him, is so stupid that the Busheviks can continue to run their operations out of the Basement, just ike under the Hapless Raygun.

And of course, in Imperial Amerika, only Imperial Family connections matter in being selected to rule, nothing so crude and vulgar and upstartish as "merit" or "experience".

Imperial Amerika, in many ways, is a pathetically predictable Stalinist (Free-Market Stalinist) Joke.

I sense they're grooming him for 2008.

It hardly surprised me when Orrin Hatch or whoever brought this up the first time. Now it looks like this idea is being sent out for testing. They probably have a surprisingly precise little plan mapped out.

* is bad enough, if Arnold were pResident I think my politically/culturally-induced nausea would probably reach disabling levels.

They had it all set for Smirk to do 2 terms, then for Little Jebbie to take over for 2 terms, then for nephew whatzizname Bush to carry on the dynasty. Now that it looks like Smirk's a 1-termer, and Jeb is a total disaster, they have to go to Plan B.

8. Novak isn't insane. He is just doing what he is told.
You know, pushing the Party Line, helping to end the American Experiment.

(which really was a vulgar little experiment with it's liberal beliefe that Filthy Little Nobodies deserved to be in control of their own destiny instead of the genetically superior breeding of the natural Aristocracy)

And Novak knows, that as a Button for the Bush Crime Family, HE HAS ABSOLUTELY ZERO WORRIES THAT HE WILL EVER BE INVESTIGATED OR FORCED TO TESTIFY, LET ALONE PROSECUTED.

The same chance for that exists as for Himmler to have indicted Julius Streicher.

The EXACT...SAME...CHANCE.

Living under Totalitarian Rule, even if it is "kinder and gentler" is such a drag because Totalitarians, be they Stalin, Hitler, Bush, Marcos, Pinochet, are depressingly boring and predictable.

Amending the Constitution to allow foreigners to run for President can, of course, benefit the Democrats. Madeline Albright could run, as well as Jennifer Granholm of Michigan.

24. I don't care if it benefits the Democratic Party or the GOP.
I think it's a security problem to enable a foreign born U.S. citizen to hold the only office in America that deals with and has oversight over the appointed offices which deal with foreign affairs.

The founders put that restriction in the constitution as a road block to help prevent powerful people with primary loyalties to other countries from taking over our government.

Altering the Constitution is a serious matter and once it gets started who knows where or IF it would end. It's a bad idea to want to amend the Constitution for something relatively trivial and would be a seriously bad move for everyone. It has squat to do with immigrants.

34. Spare me

What's outrageous is that an actor can win the govenorship of CA without really saying what he is goint to do except in generalities. What's bad is that he wins the govenorship without a clear mandate from the electorate (soud familliar), and what is worse is that he wins while allegations of sexual misconduct (as seen on UK TV no less) surface around him.

So now they want to make him the president and you are worried about anti-immigrant biggots here?

35. I Agree With The Founders On This One
And if this means that I'm a bigot in your narrow view, then so be it.

Nothing will change my mind that only someone born in the US should be allowed to run for president, I also don't think that anyone who is not a citizen should be allowed to serve in the military. If we need non-citizens for military service then maybe we should follow the French Foreign Legion example. After 5 years of honorable service
you automatically get your citizenship, it's called motivation.

Anyway the Groper is still an Austrian citizen, which makes the whole point moot. He would have to renounce his Austrian citizenship before
he could even think to run.

And as others have said let's see how he does running California, as for my own opinion, California is going to be the most suckiest state
by the time Arnold and his crew are done with it.

But you get what you vote for!!!

This is one issue where the prevailing opinions at Democratic Underground and Free Republic are virtually indistinguishable.

37. No the 26th Amendment is a fantastic one!
It codified the tradition, initiated by Geo. Washington, that Presidents of the Old Republic only serve two terms.

This was respected by everyone who came after, including Andy Jackson, US Grant, and Teddy Roosevelt...up to FDR, who knew something we didn't, that in 1933 or 1936, Busheviks like JP Morgan and Getty and the rest, tried to pull a Coup D'Etat and get FDR to retire while they inserted a puppet ruler, Gen Smedley Butler, in his place and fashioned their New Nation after Nazi Germany as a dictatorship.

Butler, perhaps the Truest American Patriot of the Modern Age, turned them in. FDR didn't prosecute the coupsters because he feared the economic catastrophe (and the spectre of Communism) that would be caused by jailing a substantial chunk of America's Wealthy Industrial Leaders.

He also sealed the papers until 2000, which is lucky because Imperial Serfs will NEVER KNOW ANYTHING that went on afetr the Bloodless Coup of 2000.

http://www.webcom.com/ctka/pr399-fdr.html

Learning stuff like the Smedley Butler Coup of 1933 (or 1936), even 70 years later, does not happen in Totalitarian Nations like Imperial Bushevik Amerika...

And that takes years, many years.

We do not. If the Busheviks want this passed int time for the ascension of Emperor Ahnold to the throne (which can be no earlier than 2016), then it will get done.

You have to stop applying your archaic notions of the Old American Republic to Imperial Amerika if you want to truly understand what is going on around you.

There is no time limit, unless it's specified by the text of the amendment itself.

The Constitution clearly states only a US-born citizen may run.

Throw this traitor Novak in jail and melt the key. (don't throw away the key as it can be found...)

The Constitution should be altered with care, if at all.

First it's allowing non-citizens to becopme prez. But that's okay, US corporations are giving all sorts of work to foreign countries so they don't have to pay nearly as much money for the end product.

Next they're going to amend the constitution with something that's utterly UNCONSTITUTIONAL (the bullplop about marriage being only between a man and a woman, and as a result make America look even less in real life what they usually want to say on a crusty piece of paper not worth half a penny anymore given the actions of the people who live and rule this country. x( )
