Private Firms Guard Military Bases at Home
THE DAILY MIS-LEAD
http://daily.misleader.org/ctt.asp?u=1142214&l=6795
===============================
WITH U.S. TROOPS STILL IN THE MIDEAST, PRIVATE FIRMS MUST GUARD MILITARY
BASES AT HOME

One of George Bush Jr.'s campaign promises was to "rebuild the military power of the United States," which Dick Cheney, his vice-presidential candidate, claimed had lapsed because of "multiplying missions and unclear goals." However, Bush's multiple deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan have overtaxed the military even more and now have led to hiring more civilian contractors for such basic duties as guarding U.S. military bases.

1. This has been going on for years
But Rummy has been pushing for more and more contracting. One of the things he would love to do is hand over the commissaries to Wal Mart. First military dependents lost much of their medical care and next could lose their commissaries. There is no way WalMart could sell food as cheap as DECA (Defense Commissary Agency) can. Rummy cares more for fancy new weapons systems then the health and welfare of the troops.

2. Gee, I thought the National Guard was doing this.
From England: the PUERTO RICAN National Guard was sent to England to guard bases there,in the middle of last winter, with no additional winter clothing, so that the MP's would do combat duty in Iraq.

3. Unless it has changed
In Germany Ponds Security Services do Security at Army bases freeing up the MP's to concentrate on Law Enforcement work.

4. Contractors Will bid For Concentration Camps?
Why does this not surprise me! We have privatized prisons, look for the same contractors to run the concentration camps.

5. Yeah, those privatized airport security screeners did a great job.
What was the name of that worthless company? Hired a bunch of minimum wage dolts who mostly slept through their jobs.

And now they are in charge of our military bases. Nice work Georgie.
