Republican thought process...
I've been thinking about this for a while, and it seems that Republicans act and vote on the assumption that bad things don't happen to them, because they're good Murkans. Think about it. From government assistance to social programs to credit card usury to the removal of bankruptcy protections to the gutting of SEC enforcement to FEMA incompetence to domestic spying... surely none of these things could ever affect a good Murkan! Only bad or lazy or dishonest or shiftless or unpatriotic people! From there, it's blame the victim time.

Those bad things couldn't happen to me! How much stupidity has resulted from that thought? It seems to be a national epidemic now.

1. Bingo
Go to Church (whether you actually uphold Christian principles or not), grab yours and screw everybody else. When bad things happen to others it's their fault for being indigent/immoral/un-Christian/etc. If by chance bad things happen to you, it's because of those damn no-good liberals screwing things up.

2. Underpinned with a long low subconscious whine of:

"But, but, but *I* think circumstances should favor MEEEEEEEEEEEEE...."

3. Well, not only that,
But they judge all reality by *their* experience. The don't stop to think that their reality is skewed based on their financial situation in life. They have absolutely no sense of empathy whatsoever.

5. And in the end
when everything falls apart it will be:

"We tried to fix the country but the liberals had it all screwed up so bad that we good Merkins couldn't fix it. The commie loving, Clenis worshiping, atheistic liberal secularist scientists caused problems so deep that God, as he did to Sodom, had to wipe out the evil scourge.

6. It's the main-stream liberal media bias...
Oh, and Clinton, too. And insinuate anyone without flowering praise for Bush is an "American-hater" and/or a traitor. Drag out Ann Coulter to offer profound insight. Also, get Sean Hannity of offer cutting-edge "news".

8. Excuse me,
What thought process? You have to have a brain first, before you can have a thought process. These people are brain dead and have no logic thinking ability.
