He thinks this may well be the coming bomb.

What would be the public reaction to learning that Kerry was wiretapped?

Thom's filling in for the Majority Report now on AAR.

5. I think so too.
I think that's how they got Dan Rather too. They were probably spying on news people and realized they were going to nail the Chimp for his Nat'l Guard stuff. So that gave them plenty of time to concoct the document forgeries and get their freeper troops lined up.

2. They have been spying on political opponents for years now.
They also like to charge them with crimes for actions they do all the time - their own sins.

They are ruthless and the rights of the citizens are inconsequentail, the ends justify the means.

:grr:

4. If information comes out that Kerry was wiretapped...
Then it's game over for the Bush Crime Family.

9. It is the only reasonable MO for Bush doing it.
All of their other excuses do not hold up.

10. On politicians.. and freepers too
The first people these shitheads spy on
are in their own base.... that is how they
keep it together... what do you think someone
with a nickname like "the hammer" does????
He certainly doesn't hammer democrats.. that's for sure.
These republican thugs police their own.. and that
includes wiretapping right wing politicians
and their support groups like the freepers.
In fact. every single post to Free Republic
is scooped, sorted and categorized for later use
on a super-computer cluster in VA.
So freeps.... you have yourselves to thank.
You voted for these assholes.

11. I really think
that part of the reason that they can command the cohesion that they have among their own, was that they have stuff on some of these people.

That is a tactic that Rove has used in the past.

14. It worked for Goebbels and Himmler
and it's working right now for Rove.

And like every historical example
it will fail... spectacularly

12. Will the NY Times come out with names?
They released names of groups, so what about individuals?

15. Could the wiretap list be incorporated into the "No-Fly" list?
IIRC, it took Kennedy 3-4 months to get his name off the "No-Fly" list.

And he went to Ashcroft for assistance.
