2. Scabs, union busters.
They would all have no problem crossing a picket line, I'm sure.

11. Hmmm...
Personally If I was jobless & barely making it like so many Americans I would cross any picket line in a heartbeat. I will not starve because someone else wants a few more bucks for healthcare but thats just my opinion.

16. You hurt your self and your family in the long run.
Your attitude is why the labor movement is hurting.

19. Right. And you would work for
whatever peanuts were offered to you, right? That's the attitude! The attitude that company big wigs LOVE and that help screw all workers in the long run.

21. Better than 'leeching' of your tax dollars right?
No Job + No Money = Public Housing, Unemployment & Welfare all paid by YOU.

22. I reject the premise entirely.
If you are unemployed before a strike, it is not the labor unions fault and you still should not cross a line.

BTW Not many DUers are concerned with helping the poor with our tax dollars, that is a part of what they are for. Your use of the term 'leeching' speaks volumes.

3. What if they analyze the situation
and determine, in their own minds, that the Union is being unreasonable?

20. Do you know what the really great thing about a union is?
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 02:56 PM by two gun sid
If you don't like what your leaders are doing you can actually do something about it by getting involved. My friend, The Union is us. We make the Union what it is. No gerrymandering of districts. One person, one vote. It is truly democracy in action.

Name one company or employer that would give you that kind of power in the workplace.

4. Yes, it does smell,
Although I can sympathize with those people who have been so terribly inconvenienced by this strike. Seems like the 'man' doesn't need to worry about taking mass transit, so it doesn't matter to him.

The average Joe is the one affected. And in NYC, most of the average Joes are dems.

9. What amazes me is how these same sorts can
casually toss aside the fact that $1 Billion dollars suddenly shows up on the MTA's books. They were cooking the books WITH TAXPAYER MONEY but that's perfectly acceptable - not an inconvenience in the least.

It's a freakin' free market folks. The little guy works for the same thing you do: $$$$$$$$$

Why does this come as such a surprise, especially to those who make more $$$$$$$$$???????????????

I say "astroturfing." Microsoft, for one, did that more than once. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astroturfing

You'll see it's a geek way of deceiving the public. A tragedy, actually.
