8. He's been a guest on Blitzer a few times
Interestingly, he was on with that broadcaster Armstrong who was on the take. And the next time he was on with Ann Coulter. Bernie was great both times.

9. Maybe he was too great....
He doesn't kowtow to anybody, he states the facts clearly, and generally chews up and shreds republican talking points so he doesn't get asked back often. You know what I mean, Vern?

10. I'm waiting for a winger to call him tonight
Surely he'll put them on the air immediately. One called Mike Malloy when he was sitting in for Randi this afternoon. The guy was clueless about our rights under the Constitution so Mike hung up on him.

11. I heard that caller on Randi's show.
Mike spun him around a few times and got him to march through his own shit ... backwards and bare-footed.

The one-and-only freeper call to Malloy on Monday.

14. I liked Bernie's point tonight about the Patriot Act
He reiterated the statements of Bush and Alberto Gonzalez about the President's derivation of power in being able to go around the FISA warrant process and spy primarily on Americans, in that it stemmed from (1) the President's status as Commander In Chief under Article 2 and (2) the Iraq War Resolution in allowing the President to take all necessary action in fighting terrorism.

Bernie questioned why Bush needs the Patriot Act then, if he already has such expansive powers to take all necessary action in the war on terror. He also turned the issue around and suggested that, by urging the necessity of the Patriot Act, Bush is tacitly admitting that he doesn't have these expansive powers at all and that the warrantless surveillance is without any basis under the law.
