WOW-More Hot News: GWB has FBI spying on us too!!
WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 - Counterterrorism agents at the Federal Bureau of Investigation have conducted numerous surveillance and intelligence-gathering operations that involved, at least indirectly, groups active in causes as diverse as the environment, animal cruelty and poverty relief, newly disclosed agency records show.

After the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, John Ashcroft, who was then attorney general, loosened restrictions on the F.B.I.'s investigative powers, giving the bureau greater ability to visit and monitor Web sites, mosques and other public entities in developing terrorism leads.

But the documents, coming after the Bush administration's confirmation that President Bush had authorized some spying without warrants in fighting terrorism, prompted charges from civil rights advocates that the government had improperly blurred the line between terrorism and acts of civil disobedience and lawful protest. One document indicates that agents in Indianapolis planned to conduct surveillance as part of a "Vegan Community Project." Another document talks of the Catholic Workers group's "semi-communistic ideology." A third indicates the bureau's interest in determining the location of a protest over llama fur planned by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The documents, provided to The New York Times over the past week, came as part of a series of Freedom of Information Act lawsuits brought by the American Civil Liberties Union. For more than a year, the A.C.L.U. has been seeking access to information in F.B.I. files on about 150 protest and social groups that it says may have been improperly monitored.

The F.B.I. had previously turned over a small number of documents on antiwar groups, showing the agency's interest in investigating possible anarchist or violent links in connection with antiwar protests and demonstrations in advance of the 2004 political conventions. And earlier this month, the A.C.L.U.'s Colorado chapter released similar documents involving, among other things, people protesting logging practices at a lumber industry gathering in 2002.

2. Hey, Bush Administrations assholes. . .look me up and spy on me!
Please. I can give you an ass load of information.

Like, for example:

A. Where you can go
B. What route to take
C. How long it will take
D. I can tell you what I think of you (it only take two fingers, one on each hand).

Please spy on me.

Here's my routine. I wake up at 8 AM. I get into my Camaro z28 and go to the supermarket. Then I go down to Hillel and my Frat House.

After that, I go to a library. Then I would go to the gym, but I am having surgery on my left rotator cuff and achielles tendon.

Then, my family comes home and we have dinner around 6:30, where we talk about how much a fucking asshole Bush is.

By 11:30 or 12:00, I am asleep.

On Sundays, I go to the Fox and Hound to watch football.

On Fridays, I go to Temple and pray.

Spy on me, please!!!

5. If the American people allow this to go on
then they deserve what the end results will be. For those of us who do not want to live in a dictatorship, maybe it's time to think of leaving and going elsewhere and just watch it all from afar, as it collapses, which it will inevitably do, just like the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and every other totalitarian state.

This has to be the most evil administration in the history of this country. They make Nixon look positively naive. But most to blame, is the so-called press who went along with all their propaganda and imo, if there are prosecutions eventually, members of the 'press' should be right there in the dock with them.

However, from the reaction I am hearing from everyone I talk to, this latest crime has really made people very angry, even people who normally brush aside a lot of what has happened since they stole the first election. Maybe their sheer arrogance will finally bring them down, because much as they despise the American people, it is they, the people, who have the power once they unite, which imo, has finally begun to happen. My rightwing family members can no longer defend them. We can speak about politics again which I thought would never happen. So, I have hope that their egregious abuse of power may have a silver lining after all. It has to get this bad to wake people up sometimes. Some of us were awake a long time ago, but for some, it is only beginning to happen.

Soon, I hope, they will begin to realize that their disdain for the people of the US was very misplaced. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of them all of the time. I think their reign of terror may be coming to an end, finally.

9. U mentioned crooked newsmen. Who comes to mind?? :(
Uh, maybe, just maybe, Novak for #1. The entire FAUX outfit. Lush Limpball. Oh, the WSJ as a whole. The list just goes on and on for these US media traitors.

Aren't traitors usu. shot or hanged or something? Well, I just might like to see something like that. But since we can't post violent thoughts, and rightly so I'd agree, I imagine we'll just have to get a nun somewhere to smack their hands with the ruler and send them to bed at home without supper, back in Crawford.

6. Well, yeah.
I can see how poverty relief could be considered a potential cover for a terrorist group by this administration. Clearly alleviation of poverty is a subversive concept.

:sarcasm:
