He has already lost.
Fortune, many business publications have already come out against the "republican control" of government. I have no idea what the current polls are - wonder what they were in 1994 this time??

What goes around comes around. Two months more in 2004 and ABB wins (Kerry, at the time).

Well, we had a lot more than two months.

I do not think this is really from "W" - this neo-policy. I am not sure what he really thinks. I know the results. He needs to go back to Texas.

Maybe there will be a weak begining in 2006. I have no doubt in the results, though.

It is of some interest the attacks "Rush" has laid at the footstep of Mccain, here. It is a harbinger. I get to listen to him (Rush) every morning, on the way to work. Why is he so scared of Mccain?? He is, you know. Maybe he should be.

I know, understand, conservative principles. I know, for a fact, the liberal and conservatives do agree on central issues. B*sh republicans really should be scared here.

We are a "tar and feather society". Personally, I am proud of it. We are rebels born of rebel blood. I would sure not want to be a republican here.

1. Rebel Blood?
That drained out long ago. Somewhere around the late 1800's.

3. No, I don't think so.
If it was true that it drained out then, we'd all speak German now.

We owe our fathers (and grandfathers) now. We are rebels in our hearts. Always will be.

And that is why we will win.

5. Except that war...
... was not a rebellion. The last war "of rebellion" was the Civil War.

But I understand your point. We do owe them a lot.

I hope you are right about winning.

I might prefer a draw.

2. Businesses may have come out
against "republican control" but so what? We have Republican control and will for another year. A lot can happen in another year and these guys are the masters of spin.

Rush is no conservative. IF he were true to conservative principals he'd be shrieking against the big government Bush has brought us and against the encroachment on civil liberties. He's a shill for BushCo, nothing more, nothing less. Can you name one thing (besides Harriet Myers) that Rush has criticized Bush on?

Rush shouldn't be scared of McCain. McCain always caves and ends up rallying around BushCo. He held his ground on the torture thing but it wasn't really a huge risk for him. It didn't have huge support anyway so it was safe to oppose something that only had 9 votes supporting it anyway.

Bush broke a law. He did not have the authority to authorize spying on Americans without a warrant. But so what. No body gives a shit. Except us. They were just spying on a bunch of ragheads anyway so what's the big deal.

I have been constantly amazed at this administration's ability to wiggle out of serious scrutiny. THey get bolder each year, and still get away with things that Clinton would have been tarred and feathered for.

THere's always hope, I suppose. I just don't have much.

4. He really does bad mouth McCain.

And I think everything you said was true.

But we are Americans. We learn slow, but we learn.

Many of our fathers and forefathers would turn over in their graves if they thought we would roll over here.

Not me. There are a lot of us who think the same now. Rebublican/Democrat - just a label.

It is about being American. We were born in violence. We are rebels. I sure do not pay homage to the king of England. Many of our forefathers died for that right. Many of our forefathers died to avert a new dark age, too.

I do not have to go on a bombing run over Bremen. Or a run over Frankfort. Or Tokyo.

But I know right from wrong - because my parents that did have to do those things, and many others, did do that.

I do not speak German. My very good Jewish friends and relatives live. And I know that is because many of us knew right from wrong. We knew the party of FDR. And we still know. We know right from wrong - and I am absolutely convinced that is why we are here today, posting here.

I guess - I so much more believe in America than I will ever believe in this SOBs ability to bend it. And I will until the day I die.

Best, Joe
