12. The possibilities for mis-use is limitless.....
that's why IT'S AGAINST THE LAW!

How about using it for industrial/corporate espionage? Or using illegal wiretaps to get info that can benefit certain entities in the stock market? Or finding out info and then blackmailing people rather than "bringing them to justice"? Then there's always spying on your political 'enemies'.

One of the reporters at the press conference today asked * how many terrorists have been caught/brought to justice using his NSA wiretaps? * forgot that part of the two part question and then once reminded of it, didn't answer the question. I guess that would be a 'state secret', especially if the answer were 'zero'.

14. "how many were caught " would've been a better question
I think the reporter asked examples, whic Bush refused (cell phone example reiteration)

If he had been asked for a number, he couldn't have gotten away with the excuse.

But I wholeheartedly agree the non-answer was very telling.

15. bush knows he doesn't have to answer anything to reporters.
That whole "press conference" was just a farce. He needs to be questioned before a court of law, and then I doubt we would hear the truth.

16. I agree about that court of law
If you guys can't find a court that will do it, send 'em over here.

The Hague is cold and rainy this time of year.

Don't you think a full-blown press-conference (say an hour or two) with real reporters (Helen Thomas) asking Q's AND follow-ups would do the trick just as well.

18. Hmmm, take the press conference today;
bush yammers on until the time is almost over. When he gets a decent question, he goes into some double speak and before you know it he is talking about a subject that has nothing to do with the question. He makes some dumb joke when he doesn't want to answer. And before you know it he is gone and nothing has been answered at all. Yes, the Hague works for me.

22. There were quite some decent questions
and a lot of meaningless answers.
It was only a regurgitated version of Simple Scotty's "can't comment on an ongoin investigation".

If only there were a quarter of the reporters and they all could ask 4 questions...
If only there would be such press conferences more often than the changing of the seasons.

Was the Dem press conference (with excellent statements by Feingold imho) covered elsewhere besides C-SPAN at all?

26. hmm the memories
the bargaining, bribing, strong-arming and eavesdropping on the UN to influence the vote..

"We will call their vote, so we can see the cards on the table" blahblah

Then they pussyfooted out, booted out the inspectors and unilaterally started a war.

Mad then, still Mad Cow now.

32. Trying, I don't doubt it.
It seems though that the lack of any knowledge from either side points to Fitz having an airtight investigation. THEY don't know! If they did, the swiftboating would be very apparent with the cable news whores.

35. So, is the CIA recording every fax, phonecall, and email generated....
...by the NeoCon Junta, and has probably been doing so since the day they seized power?

You have to remember who went to the DoJ to launch this criminal investigation, and they are NOT happy with Herr Busch.
