this just off the wire.

  • 12/19/2005 U.S. Rep. John Lewis calls for Bush impeachment Associated Press- accessnorthga.com

I am assuming that he is a Democrat?

Also from what I have heard from Sen. Levin, Feingold and Byrd today - looks like they will be saying the same thing as well

    20. The Democratic senator from Georgia
The Democratic senator from Georgia told WAOK-AM he would sign a bill of impeachment if one was drawn up and that the House of Representatives should consider such a move.

Lewis is among several Democrats who have voiced discontent with Sunday night's television speech, where Bush asked Americans to continue to support the Iraq War. Lewis is the first major House figure to suggest impeaching Bush.

"Its a very serious charge, but he violated the law," said Lewis, a former civil rights leader. "The president should abide by the law. He deliberately, systematically violated the law. He is not King, he is president."

    23. Memme should be "he is not a dictator, he is a president" paired with the
    audio of the dictator quote:

    http://www.dubyaspeak.com/mp3/dictator.mp3

If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier... just so long as I'm the dictator.
During his first trip to Washington as President-Elect, Washington, D.C., Dec. 18, 2000

    and

A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it.
    White House, Jul. 26, 2001

    and

It's not a dictatorship in Washington, but I tried to make it one in that instance.

    25. Impeach him fine, but at what point do we as Americans
stop impeaching politicians we can't beat at the ballot box?
That's all I'm wondering. He gets impeached because of Clinton,
then John Edwards or John McCain will get impeached someday because
of Bush's impeachment. It never ends and only the MSM wins. Shameful.

I don't know the exact number but I do no that it sucked. Just think if those people were given
and actual reason to come out and vote. What could of happened then. Instead we were given another
career politician who was going to change things. That was bullshit and that's why we get a 50%
    turnout or whatever it was

Shameful is that you would even post such mindless, thoughtless, dribble. Clinton was not deserving of impeachment. Soldiers have died because Bush lied. Him getting impeached is getting off light for the crimes he's committed. Nice talking point, but no one is buying the bullshit you're pushing.

    68. It was a 2 1/2 year study that even Newt Gingrich helped to write.
They KNEW about it and would have acted because John O'Neill would have been given the responsibility he needed to implement those proposals, and Newt and Rudman would have worked the Republican side to make sure the GOPs didn't block it from happening.

There's no reason to hold back those feelings regarding this president. It will never end, you say... As if that shall provide some recourse to excuse his crimes. My anger and hatred is completely justified in light of what this man and his administration have done to this country. The problem lies with you in thinking that one ought to not have these feelings. I question those who do not have them, because if you are not outraged then you're not paying fucking attention.

But that fact you want to ignore it is no better. IF he gets impeached, there will never be

    45. Merry Christmas

And if the wiretaps turn out they were used on Kerry and others the repugs will run
from bush. Little Lord Pissypants will very lucky to finish his term.

    46. The cumulative investigations
will make that drumbeat louder and louder. The DSM's will now have to be publicly denied as a fraud because apparently they were leaked.

That's already a powder keg catch 22 in itself. If they try to deny the memos are accurate, it will certainly piss off the British. If he doesn't, it will prove there was no need to invade.

There is a rolling thunder that is pulling these bastards right up into the vortex. I see the call for impeachment growing each month and when all these forks in the road meet, I already predicted what I see happening...Bush will resign in humiliation.

    50. I'm new here, and my dislike of the 2 parties doesn't go over well
here it seems, well it does if your bashing Repubs but not the other way.
What I want to know is how often when you make a comment do people reply
with a line about how your thoughts are bullshit and then are gone and there
is no real dialogue. Any thoughts. Also, how do you start a thread.

    52. Did you happen to notice the name of this site?
Then you can figure out why we prefer "bashing" Republicans versus bashing Democrats.

You have to have a certain amount of posts. No one knows the number of posts you need to have though.

    75. I've got an answer for you, bub.
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 06:24 PM by Stand and Fight
First, the reason I called you on your bullshit is because it is not based on facts. The fact of the matter is that Bill Clinton's actions -- since that is what you heavily alluded to -- were not impeachable; whereas, George W. Bush's actions are beyond the pale as far as whether he is impeachable or not is concerned. The lame ass argument you make for NOT impeaching him is questionable to say the least, and it is necessary that this man and his administration be held accountable for their transgression against the people of this country and its Constitution. To try to provide cover for George W. Bush -- as I interpret your actions -- smacks of diabolic nonsense. So, how's that for "real dialogue"?

Secondly, I didn't respond because I have a life to attend to, and at that point it included getting in my car, running errands, and coming home from work.

ON EDIT: I see you got that tombstone you wanted. Congratulations. Just so you know -- this is DEMOCRATIC Underground.

    70. Here is a scary thought--they impeach him then he refuses to
resign. What recourse do we have for that?
