1. Bush wants the Patriot Act passed without any revison and to be

permanent. He claims we can't "protect" the country without it. A bipartisan commitee of Senators say the Bill is flawed and needs work. They want to work on it for a cuople of months. Bush says my way or the highway. He says the Patriot Act will expire and it will be the Dems fault. Harry says it is Bush's fault because if he picked up the phone and asked the GOP Senate to extend the Bill for debate we would be covered but Bush want to call the Senate's bluff.
The existing Patriot Act has been amended in conference and many house revisions are now included. The Senate Democrats want time to look at the changes but do not want to leave the country unprotected. So the Democrats are asking for a voice vote to extend the existing act for 3 months while they review the modified version. Is that correct?
