Report: Satellite Used After Ok. Bombing To Watch White Separatist Compound
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/S/SPY_SATELLITE?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=US

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- In the days after the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, the U.S. government used a spy satellite to gather intelligence on a white separatist compound in Oklahoma, according to a published report.

The McCurtain Daily Gazette reported Wednesday that it had obtained a Secret Service log indicating that on May 2, 1995 - two weeks after the April 19 bombing - the FBI was trying to locate suspects for questioning. They were thought to be in Elohim City, a compound near the town of Muldrow.

"Satellite assets have been tasked to provide intelligence concerning the compound," the document says.

Shown a copy, Secret Service spokesman Jonathan Cherry told The Associated Press he could not confirm it was a Secret Service document and declined further comment.

2. They were white separatists, which is a less noxious form of scum
Just as moronic, but at least they keep their idiocy to themselves.

3. The same type of satellite that would show Iraq had no WMD's
Yet for some reason BushCo said Iraq had active nuclear weapons facilities and thousands of tons of biological and chemical weapons ready to use in 45 minutes. Liars.

4. So what's wrong with that?
Those people are really fucking dangerous. Read a book titled "The Terrorist Next Door."

Remember, the second worst terrorist attack on American soil was done by Americans.

6. American Terrorists, yes. Patriot Act wasn't invented yet, though.
Was the Patriot Act invented to combat and prevent terrorism or to combat and prevent dissent-ism?

Obviously, the federal government and military and CIA had abilities far greater than they claim, prior to and following 9/11, and the Patriot Act provides more and more powers than ever in this Democracy for these agencies to achieve their goals and less and less powers for dissenters to discover their deeds and report them to the American Public, who have a need to know.

Right after 9/11 it was widely reported by media outlets in the United States that our own government failed to act to stop the 9/11 attacks, that our federal government had sufficient evidence of this type of and pursuit of such attack, and that this attack would be used to justify a war on Iraq.

Thanks to the Patriot Act, such reporting has diminished and been replaced by Psy-Ops news, for example the Judith Miller Weapons of Mass Destruction reports.

That is why most of the evidence on American torture and CIA secret detentions is leaking into this country from abroad and not being originated in this country, IMO.

Law enforcement agencies and the Pentagon need to be strong, but dissent has its roots in the birth of this nation.

To eliminate dissent is to nullify the basis for the United State of America having been founded.

9. Neither the OP or the story said anything about the PATRIOT act.
So I stand by my assertions.

10. No disrespect intended. I merely added to what you said.
I did not mean to undercut your post.

12. No problem. I do agree that the domestic surveillance is getting
out of hand. And I remember the 1960s and that whacknut Hoover investigating everyone in the country.

I'm REAL big on the Fourth Amendment (remember that quaint bit of law?). I'm a real prick when it comes to beating the hell out of companies I deal with who do not respect my privacy.

But those armed right-wing lunatics need to be watched, because the ALL want to kill people, and will do so sooner or later if they think they can get away with it.

7. I'm only suspicious of the timing of this released information.
seeing as how it would be under Clinton's watch, and would conveniently allow shrub to say " Clinton did it too!'

the timing is highly suspicious, coinciding with the passage of the patriot act and the leak of the pentagon spying on antiwar groups.

11. Two Things Are Wrong With That.
First, domestic spying is illegal.

Second, it is the slippery slope.

Was it for the right reasons? Maybe. But, next time it may not be.

5. Remember how Bill Clinton ran around the country calling Repigs
evil and claiming that "April 19 changed everything!"?

Oh, wait, that never happened . . .
