Bush didn't "accept responsibility" for jack shit.
What he said was "as president its my responsibiity to make the decision to go to war." Thats not admitting a mistake or "accepting responsibility" in the sense of admitting personal fault for a failing, thats a fifth grade civics lecture. He is just describing one apsect of the power of the office of the presidency (as authorized by Congress, I know its debateable).

How, and why, this is being spun as any kind of admission of a mistake or "acceptance of responsibility" is completely beyond me.

1. he used the word "responsibility"...and linked it with the word "my"...
with this president people take the meaning they want from his word pairings.

and they always give him benefit of the doubt. i'm speaking of msm and his adoring base, btw

2. I thought the same thing.
He said "it's my responsbiblity"...but basically was given faulty information. Who's job is it to decide what's true and what's faulty? Geez, he apparently doesn't have anyone willing to tell him the information was bogus, instead all this ass wipe has is "yes men and women!".

3. When A Journalist Develops Juevos Gigante
...to ask and press on follow-ups to the question posed during last year's debate..."Did you ever make a mistake"? If this asshat says no, then to press him to justify each and every lie that has come out...from the cooked intel to promising help to NOLA and then pulling the rug out on thousands...repeatedly. There's such a list, it could be a 3-hour special.

Of course, the fukstick would never subject himself to that kind of scrutiny and such questioning could create a Captain Queeg moment. There's no way Rove would permit that to happen.

The meme has been that by acknowledging mistakes, that shows weakness...the game now has been fudged that a blanket admission of "mistakes" or "some mistakes" are said, but nothing ever is specified, and no one is ever held accountable. Any problem this regime has faced hasn't been because it's admitted its mistakes and make changes, it was because it was forced to and is making changes to spite the critics rather than to assume real responsibility.

But then that's been how most of these people have lived their entire lives. They came up by cutting corners, playing favors, learning how to kiss ass where needed and intimidate where possible. This isn't about being human, it's about winning at all costs and then taking all the spoils as one's reward. Responsibility is something for losers.
