You won't believe Shrub really said this! Or maybe you would.

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”

“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”]

I know. It's Capitol Hill Blue, but it seems like they've had several bits of truth listed there over the past few months.

All I can say is, if this is true, he's a bigger piece of sh*t than most of us thought!!!!

2. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that were true.
I can't think of a more likely person the AWOL to say something like that. That's why he's the most dangerous man on the planet.

3. At this point I'd rather see the brazillion joke for the brazillionth time
CHB is not a news source, nobody else has *'s purported quote, and many news sources have said a lot more damning things about *.

8. LOL I posted this on my little board where a bunch of freepers hang out
and not a one of them criticized the source or even said anything nasty to me about it. Instead, they got in to a flame war with each other about whether or not the constitution is actually a 'living document'. It is really funny; they have made some of the most intelligent arguments I have seen them make on any topic.

And it all started with this (most likely) bullshit story from CHB.

5. Yeah yeah it's "only" CHB
but ya gotta admit there is more than a shred of credibility to these "bush is losing it" stories. All the external signs are there and there's no question he is showing the stress of all his fuckups becoming public knowledge. It ain't hard to imagine this sissy mamma's boy screaming at his inner circle in private.

11. Doug Thompson has something to say to those who bash his reporting
http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_7787.shtml

...So the next time somebody calls Capitol Hill Blue a “garbage site” or claims I’m a clown, ask them for their qualifications and background. Did they get their information from credible sources or some anonymous poster on a partisan bulletin board or a blogger with a political ax to grind?

My bio can be found on this link. I put my name on everything I write. And I stand behind what I write. I’m an arrogant, stubborn, driven bastard who takes no prisoners and backs down from no one.

When I’m wrong, I admit it. Thankfully, I haven’t had to do that very often.

When I’m right I don’t give a damn who doesn’t like it or what they say about it.

An editor who taught me a lot once said: “If you piss off both sides you’re doing your job.”

That’s good enough for me.

6. CHB has to earn some credibilty.
Weren't they posting anti-Clinton gossip (i.e. unsubstantiated) years ago?

I thought that's what another DUer pointed out recently.

All his actions indicate he's just the kind of asswipe who'd say something like that. I'm not the least bit surprised.

9. That was my thought too. I know there's a lot of DUers who think
CHB isn't much of a source, but all that they've posted about Shrub losing it with his staff, and people being afraid to tell him bad news hasn't ever been proven wrong. In fact, much of it seems to be looking true.

I guess the only reason I posted this was because it's such a sad idea to think that the President of the US would ever even have the idea to say such a thing, let alone out loud to anyone!

I never thought I'd say I'm ashamed to be an American, but..........

13. the truly sad part is, as others have said, that it is all too easy to see
the boyking saying something like this. he clearly has contempt for the document, or he wouldn't have declared war (which he isn't allowed to do), he wouldn't have pushed through the "patriot act" and he and that whole miserable, corrupt, power-mad bunch wouldn't have turned this into a fascist state.

my friends in other countries know that he is not representative of all of us, but I get tired of answering the horrified, "what on EARTH is he DOING??"
