Anyone know anything about this Michael Moore "hypocrisy"
stuff the right have been frothing over recently? My repub brother-in-law was enthusing it the other day, and I didn't have a good answer.

1. Don't have a clue what you're talking about.

In the meantime, tell them to worry about the planks in their own eyes before they even THINK of accusing someone on the opposite end of the political spectrum of hypocrisy.

I mean, really. How hypocritical.

7. they're all going on about this book
"Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy." which states that Moore's foundation owns tons of stock in various companies he goes after -
"He owns tens of thousands of shares – including nearly 2,000 shares of Boeing, nearly 1,000 of Sonoco, more than 4,000 of Best Foods, more than 3,000 of Eli Lilly, more than 8,000 of Bank One and more than 2,000 of Halliburton, the company most vilified by Moore in "Fahrenheit 9/11."

It sounds crazy to me, but I didn't have any info to argue back.

4. Yeah, they expect Moore to micromanage
every single share of stock in his foundation, but they're perfectly comfortable with the notion that Ken Lay had absolutely no idea what Skilling and Fastow were up to at Enron.

There is NOTHING you can do with morons who repeat bullshit like this. They have no concept of reality, just parrot stupid talking points in an attempt to make themselves look dead clever.

Just say, "You BOUGHT that?" laugh, and walk away.

5. Corporate activists (gadflies) own stock as a rule ...
... to give them standing in law and matters of "investor relations." Nader owned GM stock at the same time he published "Unsafe At Any Speed." This is absolutely ordinary.

6. Tell your BIL that he needs to be lots more concerned
about the bush family's vested interest in middle eastern oil companies. That little relationship has a far more profound effect on all of us than any stock MM may or may not own.

8. thanks
he's kind of hard to argue with. His hands start shaking and he looks like he's going to suffer an aneurysm.
