Mr. Davis seems to be enjoying a sudden and rather public comeback here these days - especially after the politically beleaguered "Governator" recently reached into Mr. Davis's Rolodex and appointed a left-leaning Davis administration official as his new chief of staff.

Several hundred people attended the boisterous unveiling, including Susan P. Kennedy, the new chief of staff, and Daniel Zingale, another former Davis administration official who is chief of staff to the Republican governor's wife, Maria Shriver. California politicians from both sides of the aisle were stunned, and many Republicans angered, that the two had been invited to join the "horseshoe," the nickname for the governor's inner sanctum on the Capitol's ground floor.

Steven Maviglio, Mr. Davis's former spokesman, said the Kennedy appointment "is part redemption" for the ousted governor. Mr. Davis, he said, has "got to be smiling."

And it was hard not to notice a certain spring in Mr. Davis's step at the unveiling, a notable looseness in his famously stiff demeanor, as he spent the day soaking up the attention.

2. The eyes tell the truth behind the smile.
A real smile involves the whole face-- especially the eyes. Notice how Davis' eyes match the happiness on his whole face.

Now look at Arnold: His mouth is smiling, but his eyes don't communicate real happiness. That's the difference between a movie star and a good actor-- or a genuinely happy person.
