Buried in APs "Democrats Lack Unified Position on Iraq" hit piece is This.
<snip>

GOP leaders in Congress have lined up behind Bush in rejecting a timetable for withdrawal. But some in their rank-and-file — Sen. Chuck Hagel (news, bio, voting record) of Nebraska, for one — have started challenging the administration on future U.S. involvement in Iraq.

Other Republicans are questioning the administration's path forward carefully and privately so they aren't perceived as crossing an administration known for demanding loyalty.

"There isn't a unified position in either political party on exactly what to do moving forward in Iraq," said Michael Feldman, a Democratic consultant in Washington. "This is a big and difficult and sticky issue. Lives are at stake."

Unlike the Republican fissures, Democratic differences have been prominently on display in recent weeks.

Yet they run a fucking headline like that! :argh:

3. Or, you could take it as a compliment

and intelligent concern because it contains the assumption that Congressional Democrats will soon have the control or majority national say in Iraq policy.

4. thursday night I had insomnia
and was up until 5 a.m. -- just flipping thru the channels. Mostly CSpan and Fox, CNN.

I saw that meme replayed over and over: Dems confused; not united; don't have a plan, etc.

Assholes.

5. I wish rove would be indicted...
I have noticed the same over the last week. It is like they are still reading his daily faxes. I can't wait for the little twit to be indicted.

6. it matters not if dems are united
Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 02:05 PM by maxsolomon
all 3 branches of the government are controlled by the other party. policy is set by the other party. the MSM is controlled by GOP-allied corporations, or cowed into submission.

even if the dems came up with the perfect "plan for victory" in iraq (you can't come up with something that cannot exist - we're going to LOSE in iraq eventually), it would be dismissed out of hand by the GOP, as it would involve a. thought b. humility.

AP can SUCK IT.

7. This is a golden opportunity for Dems
Dems need to craft ONE policy on how to exit Iraq. WHY can't the Democrats agree to get behind ONE PLAN? There are too many cooks in the kitchen---Kerry has a plan, Kuchinich has a plan, Murtha has a plan, etc. With so many different plans we will remained fragmented and splintered.

Dems need to seize this opportunity, be bold, step up and take the lead. Infighting and ego battles will not get us the fuck out of Iraq.
