Firedoglake: Sources are saying that Woodward may testify before GJ
Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 12:42 PM by Halliburton
next week and that CNN's early report of Luskin testifying is BS and pure spin from Rove's camp. Jane was the first one to report that Viveca Novak was the one who actually tipped off Luskin that Cooper could put Rove in legal jeopardy. She reported this a day before the NYT got to it, so she has pretty good sources.

<snip>
I am hearing through sources that the Franken story is crap, 100% spin. Fitzgerald is supposedly busy right now dealing with Bob Woodward, who may have earned himself a trip to the grand jury next week for his efforts, and with Woodward's source, whoever that may turn out to be. Only then will he start dealing with Viveca Novak, and the "Fitzgerald made a mistake" rumor is pure bullshit. And nobody at this point is buying the story that Luskin himself is going in to testify.

1. I would think that if Luskin is required to testify,
he would have to remove himself as Rove's lawyer. The whole story about him testifying never smelled right to me.

2. I was wondering when Woodward would be pulled into this deeper...
Woodward claims that a very-senior WH official told him about Plame's covert status at the CIA.

Woodward kept this secret for a long time.

Of course, Fitz is going to want to talk with him further and the GJ needs to hear what he has to say.

I wonder if WW will give up his source?

I'm guessing it's Junior.

3. I wonder if Bob Woodward still thinks....
this investigation is small potatoes, or that nothing will come of it.

He has repeatedly dissed Fitzgerald and the investigation. I wonder if Fitzgerald is aware of Woodward's public comments. I think he is. :grr:
