Republican Economic Bullsh*t Indicators.
Slanted economic indicators may allow pundits that the economy is doing well.

However, they do not take into account the 8.1 TRILLION dollars in debt we have occured.

That debt goes into our economy. If I took my charge card to Costco, and charged 8.1 Trillion dollars of their goods on it, they could have a pretty good fourth quarter this year.

The money that the government charges is spent largely back into the US Economy. Bullets, bridges, government wages, defense manufacturing, computers, software- pretty much all sectors are affected.

Get some genius think-tank to figure out what the economy is doing without this 8.1 trillion influx of money (even more if you count the wasted Clinton surplus) , and you will see the real Republican Economy.

2. They also fail to mention that GDP is only economic activity.
Even a disaster like Katrina, with all the government and insurance payouts and rebuilding, will have a net stimulative effect on GDP. So does the huge increase in gas prices, at least in the short run. If it continued unabated, it could easily lead to stagflation.

But my point is just that a rising GDP can not be correlated to a lowered misery index.

Stock market is another one. Only the elites REALLY benefit from a rising stock market, and the top half or so enjoy SOME benefits, but the other half who cannot affford to invest are screwed, as our corporate bosses continue to squeeze our wages to keep those same stocks going UP.

Not that this country was ever intended to bring prosperity to the majority. It was all about the wealthy colonial elites not wanting to give their lucre to the pigs in England. Same racket, prettier rhetoric, different bosses.

3. The first sentence should read:
Slanted economic indicators may allow pundits to claim that the economy is doing well.

Sorry, missed the editing period.
