people would have dumped Hitler and pulled out of Poland and reversed the Fuhrers path to destruction?

How will history look at the US if we continue on Bush's idiotic path even after he is out of office?

Will we look better in history's eyes if the US just declares victory and pulls out immediately or if we find some middle ground?

2. Better if Hindenburg hadn't folded...
... to Hitler in 1933.

But, Vietnam is instructive here. Eisenhower started putting troops into Vietnam around 1958 (he had the CIA in there earlier than that). That war spanned five presidents.

The advantageous thing in this regard is that the US public has not much taste for long wars--Vietnam finally convinced them of that--and any candidate running on keeping the war going is likely to get hammered (barring no sudden events like another substantial terrorist attack).

It's important to remember that the US (and the UK) had one shared objective in this war--take control of Iraqi oil through preferential contracts to American and British oil companies. Additionally, the US wants military air power and special ops bases in the region. Once those two objectives are achieved, a majority of the troops there now will come home.

Cheers.

3. Hitler maintained a favorable domestic program
while secretly plotting all the nasty stuff. Only the smart ones (like DUers in 2004, ahem) knew the grim realities of his dastardly agenda. Luckily the murcan-sheeple today are getting their eyes opened, although bush-devotees and ass-kissers will willingly jump over the cliff with Him and his Diciples.

6. If Germany had won the war, then history would view Hitler kindly
Because the victors write the history.

Just a thought...

Peace.
