Now I love it.

The Dems are effectively insulated from any slop-over or shit-spatter in the Abramoff scandal(s) because of DeLay's Republican loyalty tests for any lobbyists doing 'business' with him and his ilk.

The 'K Street Project' bites them in the ass. Delicious.

3. A beautiful example of "be careful what you wish for" and the
law of unintended consequences.

4. The beautiful thing about a one-party government
is that one party takes all the blame for scandals and corruption

5. From all reports I have read, some Democrats are going to be
touched by this scandal as well, unfortunately. Still, the ratio will be heavily in "favor" of the Republicans.

6. I had not seen that, but you're right...DeLay is a one-party ideologue
Edited on Mon Nov-28-05 04:56 PM by Richardo
So he and his gang should get 90%+ of the spatter.

And the Dems? If (and I say IF) any Dems are involved, shame on them and good riddance if they're mixed up in any of this. That was my take on Traficant, and that's my take on anyone.

Lobbying is anti-representative government and therefore anti-American in my book.

9. "All" The Reports? You Mean All The Mediawhore/GOP Spin DU'ers Have
regurgitated unthinkingly?

Please site any report that says Democrats are involved in the CRIMES that Abramoff is guilty of.

Actually, save your time. Cause there's ZERO evidence at this point that any Democrat has crossed the legal line.

Sorry, there have been no credible reports of Democrats being involved in extortion and money laundering or quid pro quo bribery.

Just bullshit posts talking about Democrats engaging in LEGAL behavior.

Lobbying may be distasteful but it's legal. Accepting monies is also largely legal... the laws are very loose.

Totally different issue than Abramoff's extortion and money laundering.

12. Look....I'm responding to the OP that stated that somehow Democrats
were somehow insulated from Abramoff. That simply is not the case as can be seen in the following story.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/11/17/national/w002826S03.DTL

So I believe that my statement that some Democrats will be "touched" by this scandal is correct. They already have been.

You can deny all you want the facts stated in the (MSM) story, but realize these are all reported campaign contributions, so your denials are going to hit a brick wall.

As I also stated, this scandal can be traced to the White House through the Dept. of Interior, and it will stay a "Republican" scandal I believe.

8. The 'K Street Project' is as corrupt as it gets.
From my contacts in DC, I know of a Democrat working for a Republican lobbyist who gets a 6-figure salary. The open understanding, verbal not written, is that a specific amount of that salary MUST be contributed periodically to a designated Republican campaign fund. The Democrat must take care to never contribute more than $199 within any campaign cycle to any Democratic fund. The lobbying firm reviews FEC reports and will fire anyone whose name shows up as a Democratic contributor.
