Ugandan Women Raise Money for Katrina Relief

Women in Uganda, suffering from AIDS and making a living by pounding big rocks until they are small rocks for $1.20 a day contributed almost $900.00 to Hurricane Relief Victims in New Orleans.

The average annual income in Uganda is about $300.00. Those who know what suffering is all about want to help those who are suffering now. Incredible. Beautiful. Sad Story.

1. During the Great Famine, the Choctaw Nation donated $170....

For famine relief.

The US sent about $2 million--from private sources, mostly immigrants & other Irish Americans. The US government donated NADA. President James K Polk donated $50.

Some people are poor in money but rich in other ways.
