I Hope Bush DOES Announce A Pullout This Week (Bout TIME He Did GOOD)
Edited on Fri Nov-25-05 07:17 PM by matcom
No, I WON'T be happy that it will be only 'partial'. NO, it does NOT absolve him of his attrocities.

But, YES. YES it IS a step towords what I have wanted. THIS is why I marched against the war and FOR the troops to come home. YES, it WILL make me (partially) happy. I, and MANY of YOU have called for this day. It WILL be a victory for all of us (i'm gonna celebrate for about an hour).

I don't CARE that it will be because he is defeated and a nothing pResident. I don't CARE that he is doing it for POLITICAL purposes. It IS the RIGHT thing to do. I won't let up on that fucker. Even when EVERY soldier is back home (don't worry, I will have NO illusions as to WHY or HOW).

BUT, it WILL be a fucking HAPPY DAY. IF only partially, and IF only temporary. But it WILL be the FIRST (partial) thing this fucker has EVER done right.

The PEACE movement will get a partial victory this week. One of MANY. Enjoy it folks

1. You are correct!
Even though his motives will be selfish and evil (so what else is new?!), it will be the right thing to do.

3. I am afraid they are using fuzzy numbers again to deceive
The number of troops in Iraq was bumped up from 125,000 this year to 162,000 to get them through those pesky "benchmarks". I believe they will draw down 60,000 or so and send at least 20,000 to Kuwait (meaning they will be back in Iraq in no time) and 30,000 to bases not too far away and that still leaves 100,000 US troops as sitting ducks in Iraq. IOW I think it is more smoke and mirrors from rum dumb.

It does not make me too happy for the troops left behind. It seems to me they will be even more vulnerable and FOR POLITICAL REASONS!
I say bring them all home. NOW!

12. They love their fuzzy math!!
Just like the canard "But the economy is up 4%! Shrubya is a fucking genius! His policies are working!"

Yeah, sure, assholes - it's up 4% since 2004. Which doesn't quite make up for inflation in that time period, and hasn't quite equalized the 35% downslide from 2001 to 2004, fucksticks.

(please note - I made all these numbers up, I don't know what the real numbers are, but I do know that the republicans are passing off the obfuscation that the economy is way up while it's still lower than it was during Clinton's time)

16. Our troops will never leave Iraq

As much as I hate to say it, we'll have a permanent base in Iraq the rest of my life (I'm 33).

We need to keep pushing for it though. All the stupid excuses he gives for staying in makes him look bad.

Plus withdrawing troops is the right thing to do. It'll just never happen under bush.

18. Although, on the other hand, the asshole might have a plan of evil
Or at least, Cheney or Rove might have a plan - that is, bring a shitload home, let the American death rate soar over there because of not enough troops, and then they go on TV and say, "Okay, we tried the democrat bleeding heart peacenik tree-hugging liberal way, and look what happened."

And bovine America will say, "Eee-yup, huh huh. Yup."

19. I am with you.
I do not care who brings them home. He is still an incompetent asshole of the highest order and I will never forgive the shit he has pulled but this is what needs to happen. He gets no credit, he is doing this for a reason that he thinks will help him politically, but it is still the right thing to do.

No way he gets out of everyone knowing he was forced by us to do this.

Happy day after Thanksgiving Matcom.
